Still not sure how I feel about it. I'll tell you after I reflect on the 157th listen.

Man, don't sugar coat it, this place used to be way better. It's barely worth reading now, and when it is it's mostly just to laugh.

I only arrived in 2011, and I think it was better. Some of the same shitty posters were around then, plus you had guys like SPF, Conan, DStone, and Gotti (Oeshon was a mod, somehow) who were as bad as any of them, but it seemed like they felt more of an obligation to at least pretend to be interested in getting things right. Just a half step removed from the pure identity stuff.

I had never heard this term before so I googled it for the giggles but the thing that makes it great is I already knew what I would see when it returned the results. Literal LOLs.
The way the gun community can "eat its own" so to speak has always impressed me.

I can’t believe anyone would support discrimination flat out, in public.
I do.

I don't want someone that is an electrician conducting brain surgery on me.

Every time you chose to go to a different restaurant or store for something that's also a form of discrimination.

You obviously know that has nothing to do with the the 3 dissenting judges in this case.

Greg not wanting an electrician as a brain surgeon is not the same as discriminating against a qualified doctor based on their sexual preference.

Sure, but I think that's just the global political trend. The Overton window has shifted and now the view is shithouse.
Just look at what makes up the political dialogue in the Anglosphere at the moment. It's overwhelmingly reactionary identity politics.
My personal take is almost always a form of soft technological determinism (I enjoy articles like this), which easily fits into the discussion about social media, global markets and migration, but the discussion is almost entirely about wounded identities.

Thanks, I appreciate the clarification. However, I hope you can appreciate the applicability to my particular circumstances, @Lead and again, that I have not otherwise made much of an issue of the judgement against me. All this to-and-fro-ing must make it seem like I have a beef; please understand that is not so--rather the opposite--just sayin', as it were, and trying to explain my reasoning for "just sayin'" anything.

So, party on, dudes.

Maybe some of my reply was to everyone in general. There’s a lot of questions just coming in about this when I think it should be pretty straightforward how to truly avoid it if you need to. With any guideline, I think we’d want the posters to just decide to avoid it all together than try to consider what ways they can do it without it getting them in trouble. Anytime they decide the route of stepping on a line, it’s going to become more subjective and could go the wrong way.

Go on... and bacon, toast, juice, a donut, what else?

Just eggs and hot sauce. That’s become like a staple meal for me.

Also me deciding to go to Ulta instead Sephora is not discrimination. Me deciding on dinner at a cafe instead of a chain restaurant, not discrimination

Greg your smarter than that

Scrambled egg whites, salsa, and grated cheese on a pita is my favorite breakfast wrap.

There's a really good, and short, book that sort of broaches this exact argument. It's called Philosophy and Real Politics by Raymond Geuss.

It's a 100 page critique of the rights based framework that is not just dominant in the anglosphere, but almost indistinguishable from reality in the ''capitalist realism'' sense. The likes of Joe Rogan are so threatened by what would, in another country like France, be fairly recognizable eruptions of political will, that they are desperate for Trump to call in the military to bring people to heel because, and I fucking quote, ''Louis Vuitton has nothing to do with George Floyd.'' Straight out of his podcast. The question that Raymond begins his examination with is ''who? whom?'' That's the underlying and frankly unaddressed assumption in rights based societies. There is a who that does things to whoms, otherwise what do you mean by ''rights''?

Pretty fascinating take, although it should really be a much larger work.

You're a proud member of the Gravy Seals and I salute you o7
Like, I lost 20lbs during the quarantine so far, but at least the guys I go shooting with have taught me how to properly use my plate carrier and let me borrow a "war" belt so I can practice mag changes and shit.

That's more than a lot of people who just go plink at a random milk jug in the woods.
