Man, that's impressive.

I used to be able to do 20+ chin ups but never more than 5 pull ups even in my prime
Dead hangs make my shoulders feel like they're going to explode. In fact just did some. Fuck me. But my prime was pretty solid, sets of 20 whenever I went out to the garage for a soda or to hit up my climbing wall.

Haven;t done a Murph in maybe five years. Those suck in a good way.

@Social Distance Warrior

ok not getting the Murph

“An athlete who is relatively fit and has some experience with Crossfit workouts, but is worried about the large sets, will be able to complete the workout in smaller sets, like 5 rounds of 20 pullups, 40 pushups, and 60 squats,”

So a less experienced athlete just pumps off 5 sets of 20 pull-ups? And the real athletes do 100 in a row? WTF am I missing here. I mean the push ups and squats I get not the pull ups.

Some people are really stupid and think 40 push ups is comparable to 20 pull ups.

I honestly don’t understand how you can even rationalize hating an entire CONTINENT of males not just race cause Asian could mean 1 of multiple countries, that being said I’d have to read the entire exchange that happened and not just Fawlty posts to decide on the context.
It was a very careful angle shot where he claimed it only applied to every single [insert ethnicity] man he had ever met. Leaves wiggle room but in a disingenuous way, IMHO.

I’m going to need Greg’s thoughts on this as the only confirmed Asian on sherdog I know

Don’t they do some weird variation of a pull-up where they use body momentum to help?

Do y'all do pull-ups underhanded or overhanded? The latter is easier for me.

I find I get better lat activation doing them underhand. Though you do have to work to limit the bicep involvement. If I focus on pulling my lower chest to the bar, it's almost all back doing the work.

kipping but that’s considered a cheat I think

Maybe. But it's a little trend I'm noticing, and it wasn't just this.

do you ever wonder why your stories (your "experiences" & fictional short stories) are always received so poorly on here?
