Bioshock is the biggest name by far. Some games like fallout and gta have political commentary embedded in them, but its not a big part of the actual game and can be outright ignored or even missed. Most political titles tend to be indy, though, and shooters/war games tend to require more resources to develop than things like puzzle games. There are a fair number of those: "papers please" is probably the most well known indy political game.
@Trotsky

I'm not trying to trick you into liking George Conaway but.....

I don't really get any exposure to him outside of you posting his tweets. Seems like a funny dude at the very least. Although, of course, I hold reservations based on his being a Republican and being married to a propagandist for a corrupt halfwit.

Actually, that's a misrepresentation created by some dork I was humiliating at the time. Not shocked that you would spread such lies, as @Jack V Savage has enlightened me to your game.

Something that primary season has driven home is that a lot of people I saw as being on my side in terms of promoting reason and honesty really just usually liked where I ended up (generally concluding that the right-wing movement in America is based on objective untruths) but weren't on board with the process that got me there. My opinion of many of them has consequently taken a dive, but not to the point that I'd classify someone like Trotsky with, say, SBJJ or Farmer. I just think he has a lot of the same flaws as them in a lesser degree.

Yikes, almost did forget about that. What a creep.

I do enjoy the @Fawlty gems though.

as a bonus, it keeps the retards in one place...

@Gandhi @Quipling @Fawlty @whoever else is a video game nerd?

Are there any left wing-oriented combat video games? I've never played anything but sports games, but I was browsing at best buy and realized how conceptually boring all the war/shooter games were to me.

So, three questions:

(i) are there any left wing video game concepts/franchises?

(ii) if so what are they?

(iii) if not, that seems to confirm that video game creators don't have the same hard left slant that other artistic groups (musicians, writers, painters, thespians) have; why is that? Is it incel-adjacent?
Hahahahagaaaaaaaaaa

@LogicalInsanity @Mr Holmes @bobgeese @Ultra O’Dia @vanillaisis

Next level partisan fanatacism. <45>

Saw that Pete Davidson stand up special. I’m pretty stunned this guy is as popular as he is. He kinda stumbled through the whole thing but there were some funny parts there. He’s got a bit about Louie CK telling on him for smoking too much weed, being suspicious about a girlfriends gay friend, and his thoughts on the Arianna breakup. The rest isn’t that great.

Wasn’t there controversy (ie twitter mob screeching) due to one of the recent battle fronts having a female main character with a missing limb? Then a black female character in a world war 1 or 2 game?

And I think like the basis of this game was religious alt right preppers were the bad guys

Yuck, I don't mean left-wing as in identity politics. I mean as in having a left insurrectionist sort of story arch or at least vantage point: fighting to overthrow a caste system, puppet government, or fascist regime. Maybe a second stage of establishing a provisional government and then having to protect it against reactionary forces from the displaced oligarchs or hostile foreign powers.

At the very least, the killing terrorists and brown people angle is not interesting to me. I need a political charter.

@Quipling get on it. That Bioshock game seemed to cartoonish for me. I need realism.

It's kind of interesting that you're in agreement with HereticBD here since I would say that you and Heretic, certainly more than SBJJ or FarmerBrown, share some of the same flaws - though, again, to different degrees. I don't think either of you lack of the resources to be reasonable or honest, but often just don't care to carry the weight. One would have hoped that you getting love from posters like Heretic, Sketch, and ShadowRun when you go batty, even in response to the mildest and friendliest of disagreement, would make you reflect. But that ship has surely sailed.

Yeah, supposedly Mike Pence has done the same thing after recently shaking hands with Pete Buttigieg.

Red faction

Deus Ex

Bio shock

Mass effect

Zero Horizon Dawn

Assassin’s Creed

Any game that follows the very typical “corporations” control the government theme would be left wing imo.

Amy game that focuses more on invasion, war, would be right wing.

I don’t see a big diff between blockbuster movies and game franchises in their political slants, all the diff angles are there as niches. The right wing niche seems much bigger in gaming however.

I mean this sincerely, but video games are not a medium where you are going to be able to avoid cartoonishness. Especially shooters.

There are games which can be viewed as having a left wing bent, but like most things, whether you see it that way depends on your attitude. The Max Payne series is an extended shit all over corporate wealth and power and criminality, especially #3. If you want 'realism', that might get you there. The narration can be pretty grating, though, to be honest. It tries way too hard to be noir.

Prison Architect can (arguably) be viewed as an indictment of the prison system. You can make it is pleasant or as brutal as you want.

Shit man, just go play Doom 2016. The plot is about how a corporation risks the destruction of the universe by trying to open gates to literal Hell so they can use it as an energy source.

Also note that there is a strong chance that Cyberpunk 2077 will have what you are looking for.

Did I miss you guys having some kind of falling out? Being off Sherdog except on Sundays is making me lose track of these things.
