I left that event both disappointed and questioning my fandom....multiple times I looked at my father in law and said “what the fuck does he want Israel to do? Stand and bang?”

...the post fight confirmed it for me. Man if Romero wanted to make it a fight he could have done it. Israel didn’t show me anything special either. Romero chocked and deserved to lose. I would have rather have him be KOd.....I could accept something like that, but just standing there doing nothing for 23 minutes was just disappointing

He needed to fight like that was a fight against Castro himself. Instead he fought like him and another father going at it for the last hot dog at the BBQ.

I’m at the old sugar mill/plantation with my son because there’s a duck pond there and he loves to run around and chase birds and feed birds etc. Anyway there’s an old bronze statue of somebody, I honestly don’t know who, there. This guy walks up to me and says in rapid succession:

“Does that feller look oriental to you? Would you say he’s oriental? Actually he looks like you! Are you related to that feller? Maybe you are and you don’t know it!”

Are there any left wing-oriented combat video games? I've never played anything but sports games, but I was browsing at best buy and realized how conceptually boring all the war/shooter games were to me.

So, three questions:

(i) are there any left wing video game concepts/franchises?

(ii) if so what are they?

(iii) if not, that seems to confirm that video game creators don't have the same hard left slant that other artistic groups (musicians, writers, painters, thespians) have; why is that? Is it incel-adjacent?

Hmm...interesting. Nothing heavily combat-related that I've seen. The Civilization Series is a bit tilted toward educated people, which automatically makes it politically left, including climate change, an emphasis on science and showcasing of historical figures, landmarks, and buildings. Best example from popular titles that I can think of.

They also repeatedly quote memes as if they are real, but then tell me they don’t quote memes as if they are real.

Somebody should start a count of how many fake quotes, fake stats, fake memes, and doctored clips have been posted by the first family.

This is a prime reason they were limited to certain place on the subforum. For some reason, if you post a meme and find out it’s completely inaccurate, you can play it off like
1. you didn’t make it
2. you were just having fun cause memes are fun
3. It might not be exactly true but the underlining idea is true
If someone just types out what a meme says, they seem to feel far more accountable if it’s just flat out wrong or inaccurate and feel more shame when it’s pointed out. It provides less cover for some reason. There’s a weird sense of nihilism with memes that is better off to be kept to a relaxed, laid back area where you are looking for laughs instead of factual information. The split has been pretty good imo.
