War Room Lounge v105: It's more socially acceptable to f&@% a pizza than eat a girl

I assume I have a lot of them on ignore. But threads like that should be a wake-up call to all right-leaning people who are actually decent humans, like yourself, that you're in the company of scoundrels.
Frankly, a high schooler sexually harassing a female classmate is more forgivable than an adult with a triple digit IQ voting Republican.

glitch in the matrix

I agree with a lot of what you said about this Fire, but I think I disagree in not having a line or limit involved. From what I'm gathering from your posts you're for full on "let everyone bang" forums or discussion in general. Is this correct?

I think very few people should be banned, silenced, blacklisted, etc, except when they are blatant in the way you described this friend of yours. The counter I would say to that is if you are allowing someone(s) a large platform to spread, lets say racism as an example, then the potential for them to sway people is larger. That Greoric or whatever his name was comes to mind. He was very intelligent, but used his intelligence to argue from a scientific position why white people were vastly superior to minorities, how racism is normal, and even preferred. This type of person may go to "darker corners" after being banned, but would they really have not taken that route eventually anyway? I doubt it. Only difference is they aren't here to wrongly influence others.

I think there is a line between what should be allowed on any platform vs what shouldn't be, and things/people that tend to get banned from discussion forums usually cross that line.

I'm going to disagree with Greoric being "very intelligent".

He was smart enough to pretend he knew what he was talking about but when pressed by anyone that actually knew what they were talking about he fell apart.

Yeah he wasn't very bright. He got pretty much everything wrong. There is a certain sort of intelligence that's required to be a Greoric, but it's not much and it's a really narrow skillset (lying well enough to convince ignorant people).

I'd give him a bit more credit lol.

I think his biggest problem was inherit bias. He wasn't looking for the truth he was trying to prove his biases were truth.

That lead to him lying about his life so he could speak from a position of authority.

I think he was a capable thinker

He was taken out eventually, and the fact he was targeted means he was of more importance on the chess board than those allowed to continue grazing like cows. However, he was gullible.

He was really disordered in his thinking, though. Couldn't carry a thought to a realistic conclusion. Wasn't logically sound. Decent vocabulary but lots of mistakes with words. Not sure where this alleged intelligence comes in. I agree there is some sort of spark there, but what did it ever produce? Anything at all? Can you give me one example of him changing your mind about something, or influencing the way you think about something today? I can't think of one.

He got caught in a lot of lies.

I wouldn’t class him above the average conman type. Probably below.

He was taken out because when he got pressed on his positions he would have meltdowns

Not much different than wai

If I'm giving him max credit, he could sort of get a train of thought going, and take it up to a respectable gear, but then fly off the rails catastrophically as he approached the speed of smart.

Hey, if you see Wai, or if anyone you know does tell him he still has to check in with me. Wasn't too happy to see he might have been back here without talking to me first.

I was going to tell him to start out in the grappling forum next time to build up cred but I'll defer to your recommendations

My most memorable interaction with him was when he insisted that you should have to pay taxes to vote and then went full retard when I told him he was advocating for poll taxes and was a giant turd, to his complete disbelief.

He always cut more toward derp than insight in my opinion.

Just send him my way it's easier for everyone lol

I guess there's a level of brainpower required to get something that wrong and feel that you're justified in believing it? Kind of like how William Lane Craig has to be somewhat intelligent to torture logic as thoroughly as he does to make arguments for creationism.

Damn

It's also great how many people ignore or don't know that payroll taxes, sales taxes, and excise taxes exist.

Brainpower, maybe. Just not targeted brainpower lol. We need an official name for structured derp.

No polish, a negative income tax return invalidates all the rest of it. Ignore that poor people are consuming nearly all their money and being taxed along the way, it's their fault for being poor.
