Ah man, talk about giving someone the feels. I never saw that before.

I was playing at the Halifax Bridge Club one night when he walked in about midway through. I doubt half the people there had even heard of Trailer Park Boys, but almost everyone knew him, and were happy to see him without being fawning. He gregariously yacked for a couple of minutes and poof he was off as quick as he arrived.

Meanwhile, I was just zombified. I watched it unfold . My mind is screaming, "That's fucking Lahey." But I couldn't comprehend seeing his normal healthy self instead of the Lahey I was used to, an uncanny valley of sorts, and I stayed mum with a dopey smile on my face.

The event was so weirdly brief, it's fun to imagine I imagined it. But apparently, it was only because I played there so infrequently that I hadn't seen him before. It's one of those woulda shoulda coulda's that ain't never gonna be now. It would have been a blast to share a bridge table with him.
