20th Century aside, the question I ask is how they managed to survive in the first place. Between Hellenization, various Eastern conquerors, Egyptians, Romans, Muslims and Christians to name just a few, pretty much all of the cults were wiped out or absorbed. It's not so much that the Jews have been historically persecuted going back out of history, but that everyone was persecuted and they persevered. Any group that survived millennia of this shit would have one hell of a persecution story.

The antisemitism of the 20th century is so over the top though. Like super batshit ultra fucko crazy mass mental illness.

It's not a bad question, honestly. I think there's a lot of ethnic/religious minorities that have been treated like shit, but maybe because of their resilience and relative succes (financial, academic...) there's more envy from other religious groups? I'm just guessing here, I really don't know as much as I probably should.

It's not like she needs the money. The blame thing is also a really bad interruption of the grieving process. Woman is going to spend months of her life trying to bring him back by suing somebody. smh. When she remarries, she should choose somebody with the intelligence to look into their private helicopter pilot's record. We've all been there.

The Roman one is kinda their fault: basically a culture of religious zealots with strict in-group practices and a militant approach to not adopting idolatry. Played nice with some empires, but got revolt happy with others. It's actually crazy how much shit they stirred up.

The roman-forced diaspora came on the tail of a series of substantial uprisings that resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Roman soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians (this number is attributable to frankly genocidal massacres of Greek/Roman civilians in the eastern Mediterranean). Estimates of hundreds of thousands of judaen deaths, too, of course. Basically depopulated that part of the empire. Some provinces, like Cyprus, had to be resettled. That was followed closely by the bar kochba revolt, which saw the likely destruction of two legions before it was put down. It appears as though there is a lack of concern for this possibility, presumably because of the temporary nature of the situation. It would not be the first time someone served 2 terms and also served for another interval, although in my source case it was in reverse,
