but really thought, FLCL has nothing on Berserk. Berserk is the Japanese GoT.

What makes FLCL great is that its short and sweet and also peak Gainex. Definitely one of the better shows to appear on adult swim.

In general you can chalk up a lot of the interest in anime in a certain generation to Toonami and adult swim. Before then access to anime in the West was pretty bad, a wasteland essentially

I'll be honest, haven't really tuned in much since its return. By the time it came back I had already graduated to pirating subbed stuff off the internet.

From what I gather they run a lot of popular cross stuff like One Punch Man and My Hero Academia. I haven't even seen the new FLCL.

I was never a fan of the "toonami" era. we had all sorts of anime/manga shops here growing up. I still have thousands of authentic Japanese imported Dragonball/Dragonball Z cards & their many series & so much other memorabilia at my mom's. all of which was highly sought out & worth a lot of money. until Toonami watered down everything & diminished the value of all that shit so badly, it's all practically worthless. my Japanese friends are in the same boat, they always had all that awesome shit growing up, which is how I learned about it all. now it's considered corny. maybe in the future, hopefully, it'll all make a comeback.

anime, rather "Japanimation" was awesome in the 80s/90s, nowadays, if you like anime, people assume you're a geek. I'm in no way an anime expert, nor am I groundhog expert for what it's worth, but I always lean towards the type of shit that's more mature/graphic.

the Berserk & HxH universes all the way down to the characters, are deep as all hell. I can't really look at any other anime/manga the same anymore.

if you don't know who "Hisoka" is from HxH, I suggest you look into this motherfucker. Naruto ripped off HxH lovely.
