Do you find it at all funny For all the crying about socialism and all the dangers It would bring, the things we see in texas this year have all been brought on by unfettered capitalism. Their energy crisis, their miles long food lines the summer of 2020 and not being able to afford healthcare during a pandemic. Socialism was the evil that would bring all these horrors to America but it’s been capitalism that has caused all of it. Not to mention no one is really Advocating for socialism just more robust social programs.

Mike's BBQ in South Philly does a brisket cheese steak with a Cooper sharp whiz

That does sound delicious!

My buddy's parents are coming up from down south this weekend and I ordered a shitload of Sweet Lucy's wings for them.

My buddy grew up in West Philly, his parents moved down south when his dad retired from Corrections maybe like 5 years ago. Missing Sweet Lucy's is all they ever talk about. Haha.

Love Sweet Lucy's but haven't had it in forever.

No, I don't. It's a joke that is too played out to be funny.

And I think the mask has been well pulled off that fear mongering about "socialism" is really a matter of cultural battle. For idiot Republican voters, socialism is entirely definable as tyranny by the opposition and can therefore be assigned to anything.

I've been working in health law recently, and I've had to remind myself again just how fucking bonkers the Affordable Care Act period was. That was the craziest time pre-Trump but, unlike Trump, there just wasn't a serious reflection by society over how crazy it was. A president passed a law that required some private health insurance providers to, over the course of years, cover basic essential health conditions and not swindle consumers with ridiculous annual and lifetime limits, and subsidized the offering of basic minimal coverage to low-income consumers. The result is that the Republican Party called it socialism/communism/Nazism, compared Obama to Hitler, and thousands took to the streets to burn effigies and resist the tyranny that was....higher quality private health insurance.

These people would rather be dead than have affordable healthcare. I honestly
Don’t see how America can go on much longer like this. The writing seems to be on the wall. One group of people are living in their own made up reality. How much longer will america last under this crushing weight?

And for all the fear of ‘socialism’ texas got a good taste of capitalism the last year.

I think whatever caused 2020 is still fucking with us. Facebook has cut off the display of news on its platform because it won't share and play nice, now there are blue dogs in Russia,

Sure, it turns out to have an explanation, but what would you think upon first confronting this?

Puppy Mills can't wait to find out what chemical turns dogs blue. They'll be all the rage.

You didn't ask me but it's a group thread so WTF. I don't think it's funny. I think it's so disgusting yet easily predictable that it's tragic.
