another film, that kinda flew under the radar was Equilibrium.

there were some problems with it, but I thought Christian Bale did a great job, some great acting on his part...especially when he starts "feeling."

IIRC that happens in Shoot em Up. But his dong is inside Monica Belluci's character at the time, so that probably doesn't count.
 
But seriously @Gregolian that's the sort of thing that never fixes itself. In fact it tends to get worse. Your buddy needs to make an ultimatum: either she starts pulling her weight, or it's over. If he doesn't, it's going to get worse and worse and worse. Women who pull shit like that establish inequity as the ''new normal,'' and will always try to take more. You know that sense of shame you have in accepting free stuff? They don't have it. If your buddy keeps allowing it, she'll take more and more and more until she's no longer attracted to him, and will fuck another guy and dump him.

If she isn't one of these women, the ultimatum will be received well. If she flips out, then good riddance.

As a man, the only real power you have is walking away. I mean, unless you're like...a russian oligarch with a herd of giraffes or some shit. Then you have other powers.

Well, it's April, my lease is done in February, and I likely will start applying for my own apartment in August so in 4 months this won't be an issue for me anymore.

I ain't his parent. His gf is the younger sister of his deceased wife so that ultimatum will never be brought.

Add in my truck will be fully paid in June which means I can save/spend money on myself which means I may or may not be taking trips by myself to like Park City for a weekend trip, Jackson Hole, and Zion and shit just to get away by myself.

Yeah, I think it started that when he moved to St George to be closer to the deceased wife's family for childcare of his youngest (he had with his deceased wife) the youngest sister started babysitting a lot.

But like I said, in 2 months I'll be able to save money and then in the fall be able to go on weekend trips (where I take like an extra day or two) and just stay at a place like this with a nice Scotch and cigar and book on the balcony:

Well, genetic variety is good for warding off disease. But at the same time, I thought I read that we're hardwired to seek out people similar to ourselves.

In a parallel universe where every group is on equal terms, it'd probably be something like 70% like their own, 30% like another group.

But we live in an unbelievably unequal world with a long history of groups dominating and suppressing others. So our tastes are far from natural. Of course, it's impossible to look at any individual person and tell them their taste is unnatural and influenced by sociopolitical currents. But as a whole, it kinda has to be that way.

All I'm saying is that, in my observation, every group of guy complains about "their" women. Actually, every group of woman complains about their men too. EXCEPT white women about white men.
