Road to Perdition and History of Violence are great movies based on graphic novels

Road to Perdition is a terribly underrated film.

It never gets mentioned for anything but it was rock solid. Maybe it's the fact that Tom Hanks as a gangster is hard to picture but he does great.

I think there's truth to that but that's not mutually exclusive to Asian actually guys having problematic views towards women. I know some South Asian families and have attended their weddings and almost without fail the imam will bring up attitudes in the South Asian community about how husbands expect their wives to serve them which is contrasted with the fact that the Prophet(PBUH) was known for serving his wives and family.

Damn, now that I think about it, when it comes to men talking about women in their group, they all bitch about them pretty equally.

Even white guys get in on this. They're constantly bitching about how white women are basically not submissive/traditional enough, which then leads to admiration for Asians and Latinas. "They'll cook and clean for you!"

I can get this, but... say I work 8-5 and my wife works like 6-3... why should I (in this hypothetical) be the one cooking dinner, doing the dishes and shit?

There has to be some give and take in a relationship

Maybe your wife is fucking your neighbor during those extra 2 hours.

I'm just bringing this up because I work 8-5, roommate works 8:30-5:30, his girlfriend that basically lives here without paying rent and shit works 6:00-3:00 or thereabouts... and "watches" the kid aka turns on the TV show for the kid to veg out in front of... and either myself or my roommate are the ones preparing dinner for the house, and doing the dishes.

How is that fucking fair in a relationship?

Agreed. I always make sure to mention it when the topic of comic book movies come up.

Life isn’t fair, pal.

Idk but I usually get out of work earlier than my wife and she’s the one who usually cooks dinner, so...

them’s the breaks. Your buddy shouldn’t be with such a useless lady. You’ve mentioned she can’t cook anyway.

Any adult who doesn't know how to cook should be ashamed of themselves

That’s true but there are levels to it. I can cook, and I cook some things very well, but overall my wife is a much better and more versatile cook. And she can bake anything as well which I’m not familiar with at all really.

True enough.

Your buddy is being played. I’m not even trying to troll or insult him but he is being taken advantage of big time if this is the case.

It's not. And your roommate is in a shitty relationship.

Oh most definitely. I do more cooking in my relationship since I am better at it (and enjoy it more), but my girlfriend at least has the skills to cook. Could not date someone who didn't have the bare minimum cooking skills.

I think deep down we all just want some strange. It’s probably hard coded into our DNA to like and seek out opposites.
