When did Pool get busted paying people to lie? I'm not saying it didn't happen, but the only guy I can remember actually getting busted for that recently was O'Keefe.

I'm not too familiar with Pool though. All I know about him is that he has an insufferably long and boring vlog series, where he laughably refers to himself as a Liberal, while slamming them at every turn, and makes trolling right wing titles to his videos that would make Mark Dice blush. He's one of the most obvious grifters out there.

O'Keefe is the project veritas guy. One of his employees/partners famously set off the planned Parenthood fiasco and wound up losing a major lawsuit against them in texas because of it.

yea, I"m in complete agreement about James O'keefe and the project veritas folk.

TIm Pool, I don't know enough about to have an informed opinion of him just yet.

I will give this podcast a listen and see what he has to say.

You'll probably enjoy him because he's wildly inconsistent, a bit of a fake lefty, and not very thoughtful. He's kind of like you but with less vulgarity. I think you'll get an older brother vibe from him.

Hard work does really help if you want to be successful (granted that it doesn't fix structural problems, which is why it's a bullshit policy suggestion, but on an individual level, of course it matters a lot). But I like how Rogan totally missed AOC's point. It is literally impossible to pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I think it was in Ulysses where we first get it as a metaphor for successfully raising your economic standing. But the discussion that follows about self-improvement was good. The thought that Pool does 10 hours of "research and fact-checking" for every hour of his show and he's still so bad is kind of horrifying. Assuming he's telling the truth, that means A) he's really unable to tell legitimate sources of information from bullshit and B) there is a massive amount of bullshit out there.

I would assume that 10 hours is a lot of slacking off. The line for him just being online and “working” are blurred enough that he could throw out a number like that and not be wrong but it not mean a lot as well.
