I asked ChatGPT the following:

You've seen a lot of posts. I want you to guess what kind of forum this is. How would you evaluate the overall temperament of its users? Provide your insights in any way you wish.

It provided:

Based on the volume and tone of posts you've shared, I’d make the following educated guess:

🧵 Forum Type:

Likely a political off-topic section of a general interest forum — possibly one originally focused on something else (e.g., sports, gaming, martial arts) that now has an active political subforum.
  • Heavy presence of U.S. politics even among users outside the U.S.
  • Mix of personal insults, sarcasm, shitposting, and policy debate
  • References to posters by name or handle suggests a tight-knit or long-term community
  • "lol @ libs" vs "Trump is a toxic clown" dichotomy suggests an ideologically mixed user base
  • Some posts descend into pure flaming or mockery, while others are surprisingly well-informed or link-supported
My best guess? Sherdog Off-Topic / War Room or a similar male-dominated, legacy forum originally built around non-political interests (e.g., MMA, gaming, etc.) that now houses heavy political discussion.

😡 Temperament of the Forum Overall:

TraitDescription
AbrasiveInsults and mockery are not just tolerated—they're part of the culture
CynicalUsers show little faith in institutions, media, or opposing viewpoints
Surprisingly InformedMany posters know their topics well and cite sources, especially on policy or tech
Emotionally VolatileRage, sarcasm, and dark humor are the dominant modes of expression
TribalStrong left/right splits; posters often lump others into caricatured camps
Occasionally HumaneBeneath the flamewars, users sometimes show empathy or humanity (e.g., talking about loss, wildlife, BBQ, or mental health)

🔥 Cultural Vibe:

  • "Internet bar fight" energy — combative but oddly social
  • Frequent callbacks and in-jokes, indicating a persistent community with known personalities
  • Reward structure favors zingers and one-liners over dialogue
  • Shitposting and irony are shields against earnestness, creating a "mask of mockery" even in serious topics

🧩 Broader Psychological Profile of the Forum:

  • High tolerance for offensive language
  • Low tolerance for perceived dishonesty, spin, or tribal hypocrisy
  • Strong verbal intelligence, often expressed in dismissive or aggressive ways
  • Debate is sport, not persuasion — threads aren't about changing minds, but scoring rhetorical hits

🧠 Summary:

This forum is a volatile, politically charged environment with a core of well-informed, highly opinionated, and caustically humorous users, surrounded by a layer of trolls, partisans, and aggressive cynics. It's not a place for the faint-hearted, but it rewards wit, memory, and rhetorical aggression. In many ways, it resembles a digital colosseum: brutal, performative, and deeply tribal—yet occasionally insightful.

Let me know if you'd like a mock welcome message, culture guide, or even an analysis of how to "win" an argument in a place like this.

I then asked:

Why did you choose Sherdog?

Great question — I chose Sherdog as the likely candidate based on a combination of linguistic, cultural, and contextual clues from the posts you've shared. Here's why:

🧠 1.

  • “lol @” structure (e.g., “lol @ the whining”)
  • Frequent use of slurs, mockery, ironic emojis (<lmao>, <36>, etc.)
  • Casual profanity and vulgarity woven into otherwise articulate commentary
  • These are classic signatures of the Sherdog Off-Topic / War Room forum style — where posters often blend aggression, wit, and forum-specific slang.

🥊 2.

  • Someone mentions being in "cyber intel," and there’s a subtle masculine-coded cultural vibe — classic of Sherdog, where many users are:
    • ex-military
    • tech-savvy
    • libertarian-leaning
    • politically opinionated
  • Threads sometimes veer from policy discussion into mock fights, e.g., “so what if I shoot her toes off... we’re all gonna die anyway.” That’s aggressive, theatrical and completely in line with Sherdog's typical flair for dark or absurdist humor.

📚 3.

  • Repeated targeting of certain posters (e.g., “@Koro_11”)
  • In-jokes and thread continuity
  • Even literary tangents and jokes about submitting stories to contests — Sherdog has long-standing users who mix highbrow and lowbrow content fluidly.

🇺🇸 4.

  • Many comments center around U.S. politics (Trump, mRNA, AI, flat tax, etc.)
  • Yet some posters refer to Canada, Dubai, the Middle East — consistent with Sherdog’s large international user base despite its U.S. focus.

🧩 5.

Sherdog’s War Room has:

  • A notorious reputation for being one of the most consistently aggressive political forums online
  • A blend of intelligent, unfiltered, and often offensive content
  • Posters who go deep into politics, science, and news — but never without a layer of snark or hostility

If it’s not Sherdog, it’s something very much like it — possibly a spin-off or a similar general-interest forum (like Bodybuilding.com, Kiwi Farms, or SomethingAwful’s FYAD/CE before they were gutted).

If you're willing to confirm or deny the guess, I’d love to know. But either way, it was the cocktail of caustic wit, politics, testosterone, and Internet combativeness that screamed "Sherdog" to me.

I don't think so? I'll runs yours soon if you'd like
The post I responded to was in my notifications as your response to my request so I thought so. Sure If you can I'd appreciate it although I'm a little nervous to see the results...

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks mate.

I do consider myself to be moderate left, most of my policies are, but I see current day leftism as destructive.

I do think that we live in an era where higher powers constantly manipulate us, and not for our own benefit.

I also do lash out sarcastically at times, often with humour. Sometimes this doesn't come off particularly well.

I also view the situation as kind of hopeless, and I'd like to escape it. I'm not obsessed over things like race, but I'd like to live in a closely knit society with high morale, that celebrates itself and cares about their fellow man. I don't see this now and I only see things getting worse.

Sometimes analysis on self is a good thing. Good job mate.
