Heard that. I was out of work for a bit in 2023 and the stress is real. You can only cut back so much. Immense amount of stress. Hopefully you can get the blockers and correct it. Whatever you do, take time with the wife even if its just sitting on the couch and talking. Order uber eats etc. It may help

We try to watch movies/shows together every night, but her level of sympathy is low atm. I know she resents me having to take this time away from work but I simply can’t do 12 hours. Again, I have to go lay down every hour to get comfortable even though I can’t nap to save my life. I wish I could, but I have been having a ridiculously hard time of this. Mentally was maybe even tougher. I even took a month away from here because it would not have been conducive to my mental health

Thanks. I had quite a few bulging discs which causes my to have nearly constant back spasms and it has been really tough on me with the stress from not getting paid and feeling like a worthless piece of shit because I am putting my family in financial issues because we only have my pension check coming in on my end. Plus, my wife makes really decent money but works so damn much and so hard that it affects quality time with the family and I know she resents me having to take Fmla and not having paychecks coming in
Why would she resent you for a medical issue? Sorry to hear that, man. That seems unreasonable to me.

I don't want to pry into why there would be family financial issues when your wife makes really decent money, but I grock your own feelings about not contributing. Focusing on that does nothing to improve your health. And neither will hard feelings from the missus.

I wish you all the best and to do what you feel is right but speaking for myself, if I thought my wife bore resentment toward me for something I would be compelled to confront her and air out that shit immediately. No one likes to be in financial trouble but it's a waste of time and energy blaming you for something over which you have no control. Tell her to focus on the things you both can control.

My 2 cents only, FWIW.

A lifetime of rolling on the ground with assholes and sitting in a car with a loaded duty belt do not do wonders for the back.
Orthotics, inversion table and wonderful chiropractor, with a smattering of stretching and yoga are likely the only reasons I can move like a human.

Is that why lots of cops now wear an LBV instead?

After my spine was fused and I had to retire, no chiropractor will take me on because of the risks. I have tried everything-massage, physical therapy, dry needling and acupuncture, medication, inversion tables, the treatment(can’t remember the name) where weight is put on your feet and it pulls up straight: working out used to help a lot, but I currently am unable to work out due to the ruptured discs. I rely on medication, heat and ice, hot baths, and a back roller to get those pops in, however, the first time I was in the emergency room for this issue, I was using my back roller at work and I think that is when I ruptured two discs. Luckily, I work in the emergency room as a security supervisor and a couple guards picked me up and put me in a wheelchair to be seen. They were just bulging discs and degenerative disc disease until they ruptured. It has been torture on a daily basis and it won’t let up

You don't think it helps Trump?

@Sara j/k about the response above...

But seriously, as I said earlier ITT, I see the question of whether the Colorado State Supreme Court got it right (pending an opinion from the US Supreme Court)--I think they did, and whether the question should have been settled in state court before there was any result from all the indictments against Trump--probably not, as two completely different things.

In other words, it's one thing to assert that it does more harm than good to bring the lawsuits against him in the first place, but it's a completely different thing to assert the Colorado Supreme court erred in its interpretation of the law and that Trump should remain on the ballot. I don't think they did.

Also, regarding your comment, I strongly doubt that works on anyone except people who will vote for him anyway.

Damn that sounds serious. Are you sure you aren't eligible for workman's comp if the fmla isn't paying you?

I hope you're right, but I disagree with you. When Trump won, we saw many people in the middle vote for him and nobody expected that. I remember watching The Circus. One of the hosts had an epiphany when the numbers were coming in. He said (I'm paraphrasing here): they're throwing a dynamite stick in the system and hope some things will change.

I think it might happen again.

@My Spot is your username a reference to Arn Anderson?

It was a preexisting injury so it’s not comp. I will start getting a limited disability because I have been off more than 14 days. But the fmla does not pay, but my employer (a hospital) will pay the disability but it’s not much, maybe 1/3 of what I made before, so instead of supervisor pay, I will get what my guards make or close to that. If I can’t get the nerve blocker, I don’t know when I can go back. I actually feel great today-yesterday was fuckkng awful. The problem is that I was told the area of the thoracic is almost inoperable or too much of a risk. Basically, my bidy js paying for years of mma, football, powerlifting, skiing, and jumping off of high shit on dates when I was a kid. I am kind of a mess.

My 13 year old son just started mma. The guy that runs it is a former pro fighter that I used to train with. Yesterday, I was watching practice and he told me if you want to watch, pay and get on the mat. I am not paying $200/month for me to be so limited. The guy was actually being a big dick since my son started. After about 20 mins, he asked me to leave the gym and pick my son up later because he felt I would be a distraction for my son. I have found that watching training and being in a gym really makes me miss how I used to be able to train and fight and the things I could do, but I am 46 with rods in my spine, so my grappling and kickboxing days are behind me.

Thanks for the concern, btw. You’re not an asshole like some using my back issues to try and get a rise out of me, but he is an arrogant dick and always has been.

Oh sure, I'm with you on might. I'm just offering my own prediction. I think his support will dip for every day he spends on camera in court in Georgia alongside Rudy and Meadows, as the people who took plea deals throw him under the bus, one by one. It's one thing to have people you've fired say mean things about you, but it's another entirely for your team to spill the beans on you. How's Trump going to react as they testify against him, do you think? His head will likely explode before he gets through a day of such testimony without some kind of outburst.

If undecideds can be swayed to vote for Trump over the CO decision, I think they can be swayed back just as easily by those other court proceedings in the spring. It's not that far off. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking but I don't think so.

But we already saw nothing changed. He isn't a career politician but he's just as corrupt. He was filling the government with yes men, including family, while trying to fire anyone that wasn't directly loyal to him. And he literally tried to overturn the election even if it meant sending his goon squad to the Capitol. Who knows but I just don't see it happening.

God bless man, hopefully you get back to normal soon, but age and injuries catch up to us all. If I were you I'd insist on being there for your son's training. As long as you aren't overbearing and interfering in the instruction that should be your right.
