This all started because Dems and libs changed the definition of a mass shooting after Sandy Hook (most notably GVA and MST). But now they don't like that since it shows that there are far more athletic and explosive mass shooters than evil whitey.

This is true. Basically antigun advocates will use the broader definition(at least four people shot but not necessarily killed) to make the problem seem really widespread because if they were more narrow and only counted the kinds of rampage killings we tend to think of when we hear the term "mass shooting" the number would be much lower and therefore less convincing. But yes as you point out when you do that it means that most "mass shooters" end up being explosive gang bangers which undermines the narrative of white people being mass shooters
