Question:
Why keep up such a tall tale that nobody believes
Many people here know I'm a doctor, including you. The better question would be why do you continue to pretend I'm not? This is meant as a dialectical question, as I already know the answer.

Question 2: How does a doctor find so much time to bs on sherdog?
He just watches tv most of the time and crams power points before any big operation. It's not hard when you're above average.

Oh we do, do we?

Between patients, after work, while on Christmas vacation.. lots of possibilities.

I meet and work with physicians on a daily basis. They are the most driven, hard working collective group of people that I've ever encountered in any profession. Between patients, they squeeze in more patients, document, and after they work on publishing articles, incessantly read to stay current with their practice, etc. Not to mention family life, business travel, running their own practices and other ventures. Come on, man. Nobody is buying it.

Those are underaverage specimens. Luba isn't tethered by such inefficiencies.

What are you, some tech at a nursing home that wipes people's asses or something? Ok, so you know a few doctor, and you came to a general conclusion of how all of medicine is based on your limited exposure? Sounds like a textbook manifestation of the hasty generalization fallacy. Different specialties have different caseloads. A lot of places have 10-15% or maybe higher no show rates. I usually have some downtime during the day in addition to lunch. I typically finish all my documentation by the end of each visit because I'm a fast typist and very efficient. I last did research in med school. No interest in that at all. I'm already on top of my game when it comes to current literature. I keep a couple journals near the shitter and sometimes listen medical journal podcasts on my commute.

As in jiujitsu, the principles of efficiency, patience, and control hold the key to success in all aspects of life.

"I treated my medical degree like I approached jiujitsu: coasted through half assed to great success because i'm naturally that good."

What's most impressive is that lube is doing this on his residency

LOL do they even have physicians at nursing homes? I don't think they do other than the medical directors.

I've worked in healthcare administration for years for multiple organizations in different parts of the country. The one constant has been what I already described regarding physicians, whether they were orthopedists, GI, pulmonologists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, oncologists, etc. They're constantly overbooked, which reflects the number one complaint that patients have. Do you know what that is? I just gave you a hint.

Physicians with downtime and a regular lunch LOL. You make it sound like the average 9-5. Holy fuck, this guy.

At this point I'm not sure whether I should laugh my ass off or vow to never make another doctor appointment EVER. Right now I'm seeing this guy...

Usually not other than maybe someone who strolls through once a month. Sometimes they have NPs.

Depends on the specialty, procedure based vs not, inpatient vs outpatient. Lots of opportunities in medicine for a very reasonable work-life balance.
