Lol, my oldest is 3 and a half, I am waiting patiently for the snapping out of it phase. You have girls or boys or both?

My older one is now 3 1/4 years, he's great, but the acting up is a thing, of course. I feel for @Gregolian but I don't think his little terrorist breaks the top 20% of difficult kids that age based on observation and experience. (Mine is probably top 20% nicest, but not due to our parenting skills but just because he rolls that way.)

To give an example: my cousin's daughter wrote on the walls, took the toilet brush and dragged it through the place and over the floor and the walls, ripped her hair out, screamed for half an hour lying on the floor, put stuff in her mouth and threatened to swallow it, etc.

Yes. When his wife told the nurse she felt sick she was told to lean back.

Was bad. First time I came out here was after his wife passed for her memorial service. Sucked.

This case sounds like a prime example of what Europeans think Americans sue over and get rich ...

Part of it is me comparing how I was raised to what I'm seeing.

I had it ground into me a couple rules that I remember even from when I was three:
- Children are to be seen not heard
- Speak only when spoken to
- You eat what's placed in front of you and you eat all of it
- Share the toys and other stuff
- You use a fork/spoon and not your hands to eat (this one bothers me in the "that's gross" department as the kid still east spaghetti with their hands)

To be honest though, my dad was born in 1938, and a lot of the family friends that helped raise me had seen this first hand or been alive when it happened:

Hell, one of my dad's earliest memories is sitting at a street intersection in Minneapolis counting the cars that drove through the intersection after Berlin fell honking their horns. So that "there's no school like the old school and I'm the fucking headmaster" was 100% the sorta people that raised me.

You made a really good point about the existence of unconditional love from him being the most important thing. But going off of what Greg says, do you think it's possible she's wanting boundaries and a father who is a bit more consistent and not easily manipulated? Not that she would be able to express or really understand that idea right now.
@sickc0d3r holy crap don't even answer this. Why the fuck do I give a shit about Greg's roommate's parenting struggles? Greg you're killing me here, break the lease and bury their bodies in the salt flats.

I would but I like my job.

My plan is whenever the gf moves in I have her take over my chunk of the lease and I cut and run.

Because you have that parent empathy tugging at your vagina

Absolutely. But my opinion (and I’m just a dumbass sherdogger listening to Motley Crue “Wild side” at a dive bar right now, mind you), is that kids mostly turn out fine if their parents are loving people. And a lack of boundaries at this stage in development is more of a problem for the adults that have to deal with them than the kid. A shit ton of discipline comes from interacting with people who don’t give a shit about you later on. Also pre school helps. Teachers have dealt with everything under the sun. But, point taken. Everything gets easier if she learns how to deal with boundaries now, though there is no perfect solution. Kids are fucking nuts.

@Lowmanproblems I demand you put your avatar back the way it was

I don't know what that thing was, but I associated that helmet mask thingy with you. You're confusing me with just another Trump av in the War Room

*Oh shit, I never posted these. I had probably my best set ever at one of my favorite punk rock venues in the entire country. Hell this bar was the one that made me decide to move here. I dropped a 30 minute set on this awesome Burlesque/Comedy show.

Check out how badass this stage is.

One of the highlights of my entire comedy career tbh.

But you have to live around Saints fans

<{clintugh}>

I prefer when it was Aaron McGruder tbh

So, I opened this thread and the cover still of that video is the first thing I saw. The reason that's funny--considering the relative unlikelihood--will be clear when I say why I came in, to mention a personalized license plate I saw this morning that said only "88". Can you guess what the person was driving?

A Volkswagon SUV, painted white, no less.

His gf, aka his now deceased wife's sister, basically lives with us so he's not raising her on his own.

Like, I get it's not easy... but you gotta do SOME disciplining. She's supposed to start pre-school soon bruh and she doesn't understand how to share with people.

@Fawlty

It’s not determinism because there is no one to be determined.
