On staycation until next year, day drinking at my favorite dive bar and they’ve been playing a mix of 80’s hair bands, new wave, and metal. It wobbles the mind when they switch genres, but so far in a good way. Also got my Star Wars tickets for noon tomorrow ( just me and the wife, kids in daycare), so another day of drinking is impending.

As much as I like Thanksgiving, Christmas really is P4P the best holiday.

I never got why it was the "terrible twos." The two was pretty great, it was the three that drove me goddamn nuts.

She'll be told to like put away a toy and sit down and eat and she'll stomp her foot, yell "no" and then go get A DIFFERENT toy and drag it out and fuck around with it and not eat.

I DO THAT SHIT as a child and I'd have gotten a fucking belt.

Like, there's some things I get with kids. You stick food in front of them, they eat some of it and they claim to be full then 10 minutes later ask for a fucking snack (like a nutri-grain bar or some shit). BUT WHEN THEY DO IT EVERY NIGHT they didn't suddenly get hungry THEY'RE FUCKING MANIPULATING YOU WORSE THAN ED NORTON'S ALTER EGO DID IN FIGHT CLUB!

Let's say we end up getting like take out food (Beto's is a common one or like Popeyes for a chicken sandwich or some shit)... when I was a kid, I got something from the place my parents got food from... THEY DIDN'T DRIVE OUT OF THEIR WAY TO GET ME SOEMTHING DIFFERENT

This kid is going to be 14, ask to go on a date, be told no, and either sneak out to the boy/girl's house or the boy/girl will sneak in.

My folks and I spent Thanksgiving 2 or 3 times at Whistler so it's definitely something I thought of for Xmas. The biggest issue is that usually Xmas is considered a "peak" time and so prices go up into the stratosphere.

His dad was an abusive piece of shit and he straight told me he's scared of doing that to his kids... but he's gone like to the complete opposite end in the realm of "no discipline" essentially.

The other issue is probably once a night she throws an at least minor to full rager tantrum. I can kind of block it out nowadays by having my room door closed and turning up the volume on whatever I'm watching (which recently has been the following sort of stuff so I may be adding to the delinquency)... the issue. She runs down the hall towards the master bedroom... who's door is right next to mine.


It drives me nuts. The one thing he's good at is when she runs off to scream in her room my buddy ignores her. Too bad his gf almost immediately walks in to try and calm her down which has PROBABLY taught her that tantrums are a way to get what she wants.

They really are the worst lol. I remember the twos being about learning lots of words and getting coordination and stuff, while threes were about exploiting everything for all it was worth. Luckily mine snapped out of that stuff pretty quickly though.
