Television WANDAVISION Discussion (Dragonlord's Review)

If you have seen the whole season of WANDAVISION, how would you rate it?

This is eventually going to backfire. The appeal of Netflix/Hulu is that we don't have to overpay to watch television. Signing up for all these streaming services defeats the purpose of leaving cable.

I agree. However, once this service is available, I'm bailing on Netflix. Been contemplating it a while now, so I plan on replacing it with this Disney streaming service.

Disney is going to have a powerhouse network with all the shit they own the rights to.

I was not impressed when they announced her as SW but have been pleased since.

Who would you prefer for the role?

How was VIsion a bitch in IW?

And lol at BP being "vanilla".
<[analyzed}>

I can't put my finger on it, but she doesn't fit the role, imo.

well to me it has been shit for years

Subjective opinion does not equal empirical evidence. Comic Book Movies are still generating vast profits and, in some cases - Black Panther, Infinity War - are critically acclaimed as well.

Your personal dislike of them is utterly irrelevant.

I thought they would go with Hawkeye and/or Black Widow for series.

I hate Scarlet Witch. Her acting bothers me and her powers are just too silly and unbelievable in what was previously a somewhat grounded MCU.

Movies like Dark Knight and Iron Man saved comic book movies from over the top goofiness and camp and unfortunately, we are back to where we used to be.

Yup.

And while I agree on the unclear/silly and deus ex machina nature of her powers (as shown in the MCU), with Vision, Thor, Dr Strange etc, it would be difficult to not dabble into the not-so-grounded reality.

Confused by your point? Are you saying they (Visin, Thor, Dr. Strange) all have silly powers but you still struggle with hers?

I am struggling with this idea that somehow her powers stand out as unrealistic in a universe where Dr. Strange exists and has done so much more. I mean, what has she really shown us beyond what i would call energy manipulation?

How about an alternate star wars series with Mark Hamill as Luke and no Rian Johnson in sight.

The opening scene is Luke light sabreing Rian's head clean off and pouring alien breast milk over his corpse.

I think it's more just SEEING the powers in film that is silly. In a comic book, it makes complete sense. Actually seeing it in live action just feels goofy. I don't have a problem with her actual powers, it's just hard to accept without rolling my eyes in live action.

I admit that I'm not the norm though. I have a hard time turning my brain off and enjoying popcorn movies.

Yet all are vastly weak compared to the godly superpowers of Dominic Torreto in the Fast and the Furious franchise

Exactly my point (as in, you cannot have magic in it and aim for "grounded in reality").

But what I mean to say about her powers (though I probably worded it poorly), was that they were not explained enough. In the Age of Ultron, Hill says (about Wanda) she has "neuro-electric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation", which in the MCU probably means "whatever the plot requires" as by Infinity war, she flies as well.

Also, though I know it's a silly thing, and completely unrelated to the discussion, what bothers me is that the mind stone probably gave her the ability to completely alter accents.

I think they are cagey because she is a Mutant and they cannot use the word Mutant YET but they knew they might be able to soon. I am assuming you know the CBU?

lol at "altered accents".
