Movies Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

I agree with most other people on here with the first one being really good 8/10. A good story and everything came together nicely at the end.

The 2nd movie felt forced and hammy and clunky. 5/10.

This new trailer gives the impression that theyre trying to go back to the better style of the first movie, which is obviously a wise choice

Benoit Blanc's ridiculous coiffure stylings, though, hmmmm, I dont know about that one LoL, maybe theres a reason for it in the movie, I guess...

Fantastic movie. Highly recommend.
I agree with prior comments, Knives Out was quite good.
Glass Onion had nice style and humor occasionally worked but overall was a significant disappointment, especially from a story standpoint.

Wake up Dead Man is at least as good as Knives Out, from a mystery standpoint.
Lighting, music, ironic political or religious commentary was at times a bit on-the-nose, but for this type of movie it worked quite well.

I would give it an 8.5 to 9 out of 10, pending a rewatch.

Watched it last night. Very entertaining, Josh Brolin was great and so was Josh O'Connor. I really like the cinematography in the Knives Out movies. Very stylish and unique.

I did enjoy all 3 movies. The first one was excellent from a writing standpoint, I had no idea what was going on until things were revealed. Glass Onion was a bit too obvious and the characters a bit over the top, but I really liked the visual style.

One of the few times I wish I still had Netflix. I'll have to look elsewhere for it

I thought it was pretty good but not as good as the first two. Payoff didn't seem to be as big and film felt hamfisted sometimes with its themes.

First was ok,

Good enough to make me watch the second one

But second has me doubting I want to watch another

i thought it was about as good as Glass Onion (which i thought was more okay/dece than most, apparently), but less solid than Knives Out

Josh O’Connor was fantastic, though. T2B great. the scene shared w/ Glenn Close at the end honestly felt like two titans in conversation while at their best, even though O’Connor is only 35 w/ a career that hasn’t even been half as long & storied as Close’s. Kerry Washington was also great.

thought Craig was off his game a bit throughout most of it. he didn’t have the same energy he carried w/ him for Blanc in the first two where it felt like he was out there truly having a blast playing the character (& having blast not playing a character named James Bond)

Good film overall. The wife and I were entertained.

O'Connor was outstanding in the lead role.

Brolin was hilarious.

I enjoyed the juxtaposition between church bashing and a priest who is actually trying to embody Christ's teachings.

Father Jud had to be that way with the setting and how shitty the rest of the cast was.

Alot of interesting choices with lighting in the chapel and framing outdoor shots so you had activity obvious to the audience that the characters are oblivious to.

Just like Glass Onion, the first two acts were really flawless, then it falls apart towards the end. This movie meanders to a stupid climax when it can be solved in a more practical, tactful resolution.

The crime scene in this one is nothing. Just some small, boring ass nook with nothing in it. And that's what makes it cool.
