WADA funded study confirms: ~ 40-60% of athletes are on PEDs but only 1-2% are caught

I'd imagine most fighters use no ester testosterone

If you take test suspension there's no way you can fail a test just take it right after ur tested and when u think ur gonna be tested again go off it, its out of ur system in hours

And if you take it right after youve been tested, what happens when they come back next day?

They do that a lot.. its a common tactic.. a day later, two days later. They did it to both Cerrone and Rashad this year, and a fair few others.

And no, its not out of your system in hours.. detection time is up to 3 days...

You would be caught pretty quickly,.. I do hope you arent in the registered testing pool...

There is only like 2 or 3 stories and they were an obvious work.....Stop making it sound like most of PRIDE fights were bullshit.

PRIDE FC is way more honest than the UFC.

Did you forget, that the UFC knew Vitor was on steroids and allowed him to fight Jon Jones....They knew all this info before the fight, but they cared about the bottom line and let the fight go anyways.

The UFC is shady as fuck.

rofl jones dint want to sue ufc regarding the vitor case because he was doing steroids himself.

wonder if they still use the test band aids, like Landis

The NBA and NFL sweeps it under the rug if rumors come out on certain stars.
With the NFL it's actually the NFL player union that hides it. It's in their CBA that the first one or two offenses the player is placed in a secret drug protocol program and that player is immune to suspension from drug/alcohol abuse during that time. Those players are forced into AA meetings and such.

The guys that get suspended for PEDs in the NFL are the ones that have been caught a bunch of times already.

Man lb Brian Cushing, i'm willing to bet his body is 100 per cent steroids. He was caught like a billion times, so must actually be a thrillion.

For the full study, just google its title

Note: This study was done in 2011 and funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), but only now did they release the results, it is fair to assume that WADA didn't like the conclusions

Cliffs:
- Historically, only 1-2% of athletes test positive, this figure is consistent with the UFC's USADA program results
- Scientists asked athletes in two elite tested sporting events (Track and Field) whether or not they are on PEDs utilizing a "randomized response technique" which guarantees anonymity for individuals when answering a sensitive question

- Results:
in the first competition(WCA), the prevalence of past-year doping was 43.6% (95% confidence interval 39.4–47.9)
in the second competition(PAG), 57.1% (52.4–61.8)

Scientists agree that, due to the probabilistic nature of the study, they are likely UNDERESTIMATING the doping prevalence "Sensitivity analyses, assessing the robustness of these estimates under numerous hypothetical scenarios of intentional or unintentional noncompliance by respondents, suggested that we were unlikely to have overestimated the true prevalence of doping."

-
Conclusion:

Doping appears remarkably widespread among elite athletes, and remains largely unchecked despite current biological testing. The survey technique presented here will allow future investigators to generate continued reference estimates of the prevalence of doping.

Just lol @ people who think top athletes are clean

wada has nothing to do with the ufc

Well according to the study 30 to 60% are clean....... That's actually better than I thought.
If this study is remotely accurate, Josh Barnett and some others might be mentally retarded to get caught that much with the amount of money that have.

They should just go back to pre USADA rules. Full scale juicing is not allowed but you are allowed to cycle off.

Unless you are Usain Bolt, I doubt track and field athletes can afford that much more than fighters. Also the failing rate is similar(1-2%) so it is fair to assume a similar doping prevalence in the UFC

But quite a lot of top level athletes get support from their country, mma athletes do not.

got any link to that?

I know from collecting the numbers each week. Cowboy and rashad both had four sample weeks (weeks where their sample count increased wow by 4)

That can only happen with two visits from testers

Way back they did it to gadelha as well (she posted on Instagram )

I think it's like two a guys/team get tested for HGH per month with a few days notice. It wasn't tested for at all until a few years ago iirc.

Wrong

Also american athletes in this study were most likely tested by USADA

no, hes right. wada have nothing to do with the ufc. ufc arent code signatories

but usada are.. so usada do have to act within the wada code and they do use the wada adams database for ufc testing
