WA state Democrat pushes bill for confiscation, ban of firearms.

"If I could’ve gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them - Mr. and Mrs. America turn ’em all in - I would have done it." - Diane Feinstein

I don't get how she's still around.

Is this being pushed by the idiot Seattle mayor?

My understanding was both of these got defeated. It's June now and both those articles are from January @Scrody.

I DO know though that Seattle has a stupid ammunition tax per round or some shit. So you buy 50 rounds you pay tax on each round individually.

From the first link :

"Moeller’s definition of an “assault weapon” also includes any semiautomatic pistol “that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.”

Wow... just wow.

But, but, but....revolvers would still be ok.
Until someone shoots up a school by New York reloading a bunch of revolvers.

Yeah, didn't even stop at a magazine limit, just magazines in general.

Come back if the law ever passes. Then it will be actual news.

Politicians present bills pertinent to their pet peeves all the time. Doesn't mean they have a chance in hell of passing or that they should make the news every time they try to propose them.

Did they? If this is old news, then I guess I trolled myself.

It's only common sense to exploit such a loophole.
The multiple gun loophole. Soon, you'll need to undergo background checks whenever you purchase articles of clothing with "high capacity, assault pockets".

still worth knowing who the useless politicians are.

Never believe the "nobody wants to take your guns" argument, because of course lots of people want to do just that.

Never believe anyone ever will do so in the US, though.

My understanding is that HB 2372, the one that would require destroying of any firearms seized in criminal investigations died when LEAs brought up the fact that that helps fund the departments as they sell them to FFLs and then take the money to fund department projects.

10 round mags, no accessories, basically?

Nothing will come of this. just some bullshit posturing by a politician parlaying for votes in the future or to pad his/her career by saying, "well, back in 2016 I proposed we banned all guns!!"

This is on par with a politician saying, "we will built a wall between the US and Mexico, and mexico will pay for it."

I think at least one 100% got shitcanned and laughed off the floor even by other Democrats as the LEA officials were like "if you get rid of these we need a higher budget then". The others I think are sitting in that bill purgatory where they aren't really even talked about anymore. So, essentially dead but not officially.

If you read it plain English even my 1911s would become illegal as the magazine detaches was my understanding.

I've changed my mind. Lets just give them the guns. Here we have the upper crust of society telling us we'll be safer without them. I think its time we start listening to them, and start really trusting that they're looking out for us. If we could save one child's life it'll be worth it.
