W&T General Discussion Thread

I just looked that Alien pistol up and sadly it said only 500 are being made..

I couldn't even find the price on the website either..

It reminds me of Robocop's pistol

500 is just for the initial release.

It's like 5k. Comes with different slides, grips, etc. 0

Honestly that price tag is much less then I thought it was going to be..

$25k was the number I had in my head lol

Either way $5k is more then I'd ever be willing to spend on a handgun

Now I wish they would make a sub compact model and sell it for a grand. I would definitely be interested in that

That Alien pistol does look amazing. It may be the best looking handgun I think I have ever seen.

Before I seen that Alien pistol, my vote would have went to some of the Desert Eagles..

That is one of the main reasons why I bought my Jericho. I loved the way they look. It's not something I plan on carrying around with me or even shooting very often. More of a collector's piece for me.

That Alien pistol is on another level. I would love to have a sub-compact version of that in the stainless steel color. Everything the same just scaled down. Maybe a 3.5 inch model. 8 to 10 rounds.

Maybe one day they will make it and make it available for purchase.. I'd buy one tomorrow if I could.

I'm about to look on YouTube to see how it performs..

Anyone have experience here cleaning a pistol that has a compensator on it that is set there with like set screws? Do I just leave the barrel in the slide and get a bore snake or should I remove the comp every time I clean it?

You should be able to move the barrel enough in order to clean it. I wouldn't bother with removing the comp. Bore snake for routine and like every 1-2k or whatever pushing barrel forward, inserting rod from comp end down attach brush and pull back through. Take brush off, repeat.

That’s what I figured. Just realized I’ve never dealt with it before

The lack of integrity in the courts is sad to behold.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/federal-appeals-court-upholds-chicagos-182946045.html

A U.S. appeals court Thursday upheld an assault weapons ban that covers Chicago and the rest of Cook County, Illinois, saying guns rights advocates provided no compelling reason why it should diverge from a previous ruling upholding a similar ban in a Chicago suburb.

"If a ban on semi-automatic guns and large-capacity magazines reduces the perceived risk from a mass shooting, and makes the public feel safer as a result, that's a substantial benefit," the 12-page majority opinion said.

The U.S. Supreme Court later declined to hear the Highland Park case, effectively letting the 7th Circuit ruling stand. Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by then-Justice Antonin Scalia, said the 7th Circuit ruling "flouts two of our Second Amendment precedents."

I'd say it's time SCOTUS take a semi-auto rifle case and make it clear that banning them is illegal.

Supreme Court needs to grow some balls and take up a case

That's such a bullshit ruling, "Well if it provides a feeling of comfort..." you can justifying any right infrigmemt with that logic.

My AR makes me feel safe and I identify as a 13 year old bear. What now motherfuckers?!

As an aside, TTI baseplates are awesome but taking off OEM plates is a bitch

Is there any reason to own a Mini 14 over an AR? I've got the chance to get Ranch model made in 2015 for $600 total. Also comes with 2 20 round factory mags.

I'm confused, is it just a ban on "assault" weapons or all semi auto rifles?

I think just the high-profile, scary stuff.

"Over" and AR? No. In addition to? Yes. Cheapest I see for new is $730, so $600 sounds reasonable.

I already have a 6921. I don't wanna go back down the rabbit hole of owning multiple rifles.

Walmart's gonna stop selling ammo like .223. I've been buying Federal 55gr 100 packs there for $30 for like a decade.

If anything the weed revolution has shown, it's that without state cooperation there's precious-little enforcement.

Try to keep those type comps in place without removing so many times the best you can if possible. That's my opinion.

Is this an aluminum comp?

Having owned a mini-14, I would never buy another for the simple reason that the gas system on those things causes accuracy loss at around round 4 of any group you shoot, not to mention any pressure on the front of the forearm. They have a very skinny barrel, with a big ol gas block hanging off it. Thing gets warm quick and starts slinging rounds. Mine shot good 0-3 shots though.
