Volk just proved that he never left his prime

He looked physically better than he has in a while. I did not expect it.

Volkanovski just got beat by better fights like Makhachev & Topuria, that’s what occurred. People forgot Volkanovski was doing great in those bouts. It’s just people are too quick to count fighters out and want to discounts winners of those bouts.

You’re seeing more and more in the lighter weight classes as of late, fighters like Poitier, Gaethje, Oliviera, Holloway still doing damn thing.

Nah he looked slower in there than peak volk. But it was enough to get it done tonight with his high level skill and iq

He took a fight on a few weeks notice from beer life and got headkicked, then took on a legit striker with KO power in short time.

Not the best decision out of the cage, and affected his in the cage life.

It would have been awesome to see him and Mahakchev rematch in full camp mode. No matter the outcome, we'd all get to see actual top vs top competition, and perhaps a different fight vs Ilia.

he is past his prime but still a great fighter, not as strong as before

He showed he’s so good that he’s still elite way past his prime. He’s slowed down a lot but he’s still good enough to do it.

Nah, he’s definitely past his prime but still effective. His chin doesn’t look the same.

anyone that pretends that a training camp, and actual time off after a KO, doesn't matter, is a fool. its a night and day difference. that second islam fight needs to have an asterisk.

His reflexes, chin, and cardio aren't nearly as good as they were a few years ago. However, he was such an elite fighter that even in this declined state he's still really good.
