Volk is going to tear Machavchev a new one

I think Volk had as close to an ideal scenario as you could hope for the first time and still came up short. This time Islam seems to have all the advantages. You can’t count somebody like Volk out but the deck is stacked against him.
 
Given the short notice and acclimation/ lack of prep , Islam needs to make a statement and tap him out / tko round 3 if he is cut from the same cloth as Khabib.

call me crazy but isn't Islam the one that got dropped on his face? Volk went to a knee right? Not even an official drop.

I save this thread for a future comment.

That being said, Islam on Abu Dhabi fully rehydrated and used to the climate against a 10 week notice Volk and coming out of surgery. Strange things had happened in Mma but we'll see.
 
Islam is going to dominate Volk. Sherbros are going to be in mourning again.

First fight was so competitive I can see a rematch going either way.
 
I have felt that Volk had a poor strategy the 1st time they fought. He was too worried about takedowns and going to the ground, which made him very tentative with his striking. I think he will be more aggressive the second time around, but I'm worried the short notice will be too much to overcome. Not sure how much he's been traning, but it's hard to believe that he'll be in full fighting shape and completely prepared by next Saturday. Of course Islam will have to change his gameplan from what he was preparing for Charles, but at least he's been training and will be in shape.

I also feel Volk was fucking around a bit and playing to the crowd, there was one point he gave up his back from memory which was avoidable.
I think being in enemy territory he should be tuned in a lot more.

He could have finished Islam late in the 4th or early in the 5th if he wasn’t a jackass playing his home crowd to tune, like FFS Islam was gassed in the fourth and Volk looks at Islams corner and says I’m up and precedes to get body triangles for a round
