It was during the fight and he's not using it as a excuse. So get the book and shove it up your bookshelf

It's weird, he specifically said in English to Rogan "no excuses" yet he's now bringing up a shoulder injury to Brazilian media? I'm wondering if there's just some cultural imperative pressuring him to deliver excuses to Brazil. Like he has to offer some kind of explanation to them other than "Weidman was the better fighter tonight", which is what he said to Rogan, because the idea of a Brazilian fighter losing on even ground to an American fighter is just something that cannot be tolerated in Brazil.
Really? he gave props to the Chris in the post fight interview and he said "NO EXCUSES, HE WAS THE BETTER MAN TONIGHT"

It's the other way around. He knows American audiences will take everything but total admission of defeat as excuses so it's better to stay quiet and avoid listening to childish 'excuse' tantrums.
That could be it, Vitor's a smart guy so he knows what he should and shouldn't say when he's speaking into a UFC microphone i.e. any explanation tends to be labeled as an excuse.
