Virtue Signaling in Gaming Megathread, v.2

I forgot about Indy. That guy became a meme with the t-shirt and saying it will be a game for "modern gamers". The antiwoke threw a fit over it and said it would be a colossal failure just like the movies. Last of Us Part 2 was done dirty man.... and I don't mean by the devs. Between the leaks, the death threats, calling a character trans when she wasn't. Funny thing is there was a trans character in that game called Lev but that's not who they were referring to at that time. The trans character in TLOU 2 was done very well I thought, Dragon Age Veilguard not so much lol. Even I cringed when that character blurts out "soooo I'm non-binary." I have faith Naughty Dog will do justice with their next game as well. Usually they have good representation that doesn't cross the line into cringe territory.
Yeah, I always thought TLOU2 should have been a launch exclusive for PS5. Not that I'm complaining since PS5s were in short supply and I got to play it on last gen consoles. It's a game with flaws but anyone who think its 5 out of 10 or some shit are off their rocker. It could have had the worst story possible and it'd still be a competently made game with better than average mechanics and execution, not to mention lacking bad bugs.

And yeah, I will never say Veilguard was a good game, but Bioware has been on a slide for like...10 years. And somehow one or two trans writers on Veilguard are the only reason Bioware is in the state it is...even though one of those writers wrote some of the best ME storylines.

"It not only made them different, but it was a good metaphor for what was happening with the Civil Rights Movement in the country at that time.” -Stan Lee, talking about X-Men
If that was true, why were all the original X-Men white?

Perhaps American attitudes towards minorities weren’t quite positive in 1963. Hence the whole Civil Rights movement that they became a metaphor for.

Do you know what a metaphor is?

I know that content that wasn't originally meant to be a metaphor can be later interpreted to be a metaphor.

It'd be more correct of a statement to say the 1970s X-Men relaunch was a metaphor for civil rights.

GSXM-0001-653x1024.jpg

As for Stan Lee himself, it should be noted he has confirmed the X-Men originally was inspired by minorities repressed by bigotry... but its quite obvious given the fact Stan Lee was ethnically Jewish... growing up in the 40s & 50s America... the type of bigotry he was inspired by for the X-Men, and not the civil rights movement.

You’re stating that it couldn’t possibly be a metaphor because the characters were originally white.

That logic makes zero sense.

You’re refuting Stan Lee’s own words with Stan Lee?

{<doc}

The X-Men have represented the same marginalized groups that you don’t want in your video games.

Actually, you are correct.
There was no analization whatsoever, it was straight to the attempted accusation of homophobia.
It was an insincere compliment to say he overanalized anything.

Just like you're attempting to change the subject to me just now.

Just like earlier the attempting to change the subject from the meme to me.

Could you guys at least try not to be such clichés?

Here's another change of topic.

You're the same clown that was shitting on other people's grammar but spelled analyzation incorrectly.

It's analyze so it's spelled analyzation (or analysis) and overanalyzed.

Say you didn't watch the clip I posted without saying you didn't watch the clip I posted.

Read again the Stan Lee quote - ""It not only made them different, but it was a good metaphor for what was happening with the Civil Rights Movement in the country at that time.”

Stan Lee said X-Men was a good metaphor for the civil rights movement, not that X-Men was created to be a metaphor for the civil rights movement, nor did he find any kind of inspiration for the X-Men within it.

Now future writers of the X-Men were inspired by the civil rights movement, but the specific claim that X-Men was created or inspired by the civil rights movement is false.

Reality Check - Not everything is about you.

I'm fine with occasional misspellings in others posts as long as it's quite obvious what the word they mean is.

But never capitalizing anything in their entire post?
Makes it not worth even reading, so I don't read them.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Stan Lee: “the X-men is a good metaphor for the civil rights movement”

You: “oh really? Then why were they white?”

Again, I don’t think you understand what a metaphor is lmao.

This subject has been discussed at nauseum before and you leftists have not brought anything new to the table on this subject.

Stan Lee was not inspired by the civil rights movement in the creation of the original X-Men comic. Period.

Later stating it's a good metaphor for the civil rights movement does not contradict that.

Are you going to now claim Professor X & Magneto were originally inspired by MLK Jr & Malcom X?

Where did anyone say the X-Men were based on the civil rights movement?

Whether it’s Jews, blacks, LGBTQ, disabled, the X-Men have always represented marginalized and discriminated groups, you donkey.

Using your dumbass logic, why weren’t all the X-Men Jewish?

So... does that make X-Men 'woke' since it's creation?

Yeah, pretty much using today’s nomenclature.

Stan Lee was very progressive, as are most creatives. Having empathy for other people is a good trait for someone like that to have.

Yeah, pretty much using today’s nomenclature.

Oh the irony of using today's nomenclature of 'woke' people hailing a comic book created by a Jew and inspired by Jewish racial bigotry from growing up in 1940s & 1950s America... as 'woke.'

While the same 'woke' people are cheering on Hamas in the Gaza Strip to genocide Jews.

<{Heymansnicker}>

Doubt you see the beautiful irony, Dizzy.

That's the point. Who cares about what you care? You're not perfect grammatically so why bother others? That's why i think you're a tool.

What the fuck? Lol

You’ve tried to twist your dipshit take of “the X-Men couldn’t have been a metaphor for the civil rights movement because they were white” into some insane alternate reality where Hamas is ethnically cleansing Israel.

Admitting you don’t know what a metaphor is would have saved you a lot more embarrassment here.

Who cares about what you think?

There's a big difference between 99.7%+ of words being spelled correctly and tharking lek thus 4 inere paragafs.

As opposed to someone who has no idea how to use their SHIFT key and speaking as if their opinions should be respected.

You don’t know what a metaphor is.

Sit this one out.

You don't know the difference between a property later interpreted as a metaphor, and a property created as a metaphor.

By the way, don't bring up the claim X-Men was created to be against homophobia. You'll lose harder on it than you're losing on this 'X-Men was woke in the 1960s' narrative.
