Melonie Mac in older clips appears so much more bubbly and happy. I think a large part of this is due to the toxic audience they've built and the media sphere they are in. Who you spend time with really can affect you. It's why I cut off those types and hang with positive people. I didn't think Asmon was racist and I'm still unsure but he did have a really horrible moment when he said he'll never vote to help anyone else other than people that are exactly like him. I just thought that was such a disgusting opinion to have. To me a vote also goes towards those that are most vulnerable (cancer patients, LGBT, the disabled, children, etc) because when everyone is lifted up it's better for the entire country. I feel like the old Asmongold would have had a similar take but maybe I'm just totally wrong about the guy, maybe this is who he's always been and the current political climate gives him the confidence to show reveal his true self.

As a former viewer of his. Asmongold intentionally avoids discussing those topics today. For instance Asmongold wants Twitch to turn into a porn website so he can use it as a dating app and the CEO of OTK is a woman. Socially hes also firmly against eliminating government controlled support structures for the underprivileged and because of that he pays his taxes in full. He's also firmly against theocratic rule.

I'm not all that familiar with him, but his longtime viewers seem to not give a shit. Guy is still making crazy bank, and getting millions of views on every video he makes. All I know is that when a gaggle of Liberals start calling a guy they used to watch all the time a "piece of shit", it's because he ruffled their feathers over politics. That's all it comes down to.

Same thing happens with others, like Jim Sterling, but his politics actually affected his bottom line. This Asmon dude ain't gonna lose anything in this sphere by revealing himself to be a right winger. If gamers have a political lean, it's to the right. Especially now.

I think a part of the problem here is the difference in perception of activists, which these days are largely narcissistic hacktivists. Hactivists are extremely greedy people with a veneer of altruism - and indeed more damaging than the average folks. The hacktivists in business - they can't stand people that just put their heads down and work -- unless people are actively championing their causes they are bad people.

They instead want people like that pushed aside or screwed over in favor of themselves and their "superior values" while playing dumb over the reality of the situation (the hacktivists will say "they weren't any good, they were oppressing people like me", and those hacktivists are largely people that got low grades in high school and spring-boarded it into fringe humanities degrees.)

Hacktivists and naive people over the past bit have had this bizarre notion that since life is far from perfect, handing over the keys to these hacktivists will cure all the problems.

It's like that Doc Marie's bar, where after one day, the employees felt the owners that invested all their money into the place should have just GIVEN THEM THE BUSINESS since it wasn't as big a safe space as they felt it should have been. That's as fucking greedy as can be. Any business, or country, is gonna turn to shit if that's the endorsed attitude. It's the same shit with Sweet Baby Inc kind of businesses, rather get people banned or threaten them while pretending to be the good ones.

As for Asmondgold I do completely agree with him because we, as gamers and productive tax-payers, have had our income confiscated under the threat of imprisonment. We apparently have no right to know what that tax money goes to.

And now, thanks to DOGE, now know that the USAID is a giant money-laundering operation, and a portion of that money has gone to gaming publications that have spread Anti-Gamergate propaganda & promoted DEI in game production.

They're infecting games with their toxic leftist ideology, and when gamers point that out gaming publications call us '____ists' & '____phobes.'... all funded by money stolen out of my paycheck and given to those leftists.
