I don't know why people jumped the gun on that. They are still canon, as Gav Thorpe (author/designer/lore guy at GW) says in tweet in regards to this Femstodies thing.

It makes it look worse for GW who have tried gaslighting everyone with the infamous "there have always been female Custodians". At the height of their popularity, and on the brink of even greater things, this baffles me. No language ever supported female custodians, ever. It was always a brotherhood, as even Gav's latest codex supports further, which was made before this retcon.

They could have done something cool to introduce them, but instead they mail it in to cater to a crowd that can never be pleased and likely spends no $$ on their stuff.
