Honestly it's not even the game. It's the country. In the movie industry there's a bureau that exists to prewatch all movies to see if it is suitable for audiences. That's why Hollywood once bent the knee to them and would put in a Chinese actor for a few seconds or show China in a good light because otherwise it wouldn't even be allowed to release. Recently they had a falling out though and it seems Hollywood is way less reliant on China. The same is true for video games, if you truly hate censorship then you probably shouldn't buy a single video game developed there. That means no Black Myth Wukong, No Wuchang Fallen Feathers, No Lost Soul Aside, No Zenless Zone Zera, No Genshin Impact, No Honkai Star Rail, etc. They all must comply. I don't think most people have that kind of willpower to boycott though, if a game is good people will just play it and none of this stuff will even matter. To be honest I'm no better. I already gave these guys 20 bucks to buy a couple of skins and next year there's a couple action games that look promising coming out of China. It really makes me wonder what the point of videos are like this when most people will say "oh that's bad, but..... hey this game is fun so whatever". I mean there's no way Asmongold is just not going to stop playing games from China, especially when the culture warriors all got behind Wukong.
