Red Skull was Hans Landa with superpowers. He didn't give a shit about Hitler or the Nazis. They were a means to an end, no more. Once they were no longer of any use to him, Schmidt was perfectly willing to kill them all.

Doesn't make Schmidt any less evil, of course, but at least he wasn't racist. If only because he considered himself superior to everyone, so distinctions of race were meaningless.

This isn't a villain, he's more of a side character antihero; Jews aren't my tribe, so I don't especially care about their "blood"; finally, I don't agree with it universally and strictly, because anyone who is rational will ultimately adopt a pro-human perspective when you zoom out to the widest perspective...but generally, we as modern western viewers were expected to sort of quietly recoil at this statement reflecting archaic tribalism.

I didn't, and I don't. He's right. Spoiler alert: we're all still tribalists. We haven't progressed beyond it. The real test is to choose the right tribe, or whether or not to support a tribe that you are born into. By birth, I am American. There are times when the only blood that matters to me is American blood. By choice, I am a secular humanist, and every time their lives are in the balance against the barbarian hordes, I don't give a shit about the barbarians. Anyone else's life is acceptable collateral. Me and mine.
