Video. Working on my lowkick.

Why do you do that weird jump/reset after every kick?

Got a buddy in Thailand right now...I'm getting those thigh pads. How do you like using them?

First time we tried them. Felt great. You can move like normal wearing them.

Gonna try them in some real padwork next time.

He doesn't come from a pure MT background.

Of course, the next step here is someone posting a vid of some MT guy doing it and this thread will devolve into what is MT and what isn't lol.

Nice...I've read they work great in conjunction with focus mitts for quick transitions between hands and leg kicks. Thai pads can be too bulky to flow seamlessly at full speed.

Yeah i agree. Small focusmitts, bellypad + those lowkickpads will be a great kit i think.

There's many reasons. I sometimes use it as a step back that puts you out of your opponents range for retaliation, especially if they're throwing low kicks immediately after your low kicks.

I also use it to move into their weak side.

Move your head out of the center line when you throw them. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. Be careful.

Chuck Liddell vs. Joe Rogan.

I allways apreciate ur vídeos , and im continuing to be a pain in the a$$ by telling you that you expose urselfe when u throw the right hand ... i dont wanna see that circular movement after u throw it , i wanna see u throw it and bring it back fast to cover ur chin
:p

Frode, I like the way you throw that low kick. It's a good blend of traditional MT and other TMA's, you don't drop down and really load your hips but what your sacrificing to generate maximum power is why that kick would be very difficult to defend, it's not telegraphed. I like that you make it all one motion, the second your foot comes off the ground your shins into the pad and your stance is ideal for that quick transition into your low kick even when you're defending.

I'd like to see you add in a quick lead UC right behind that low kick, you appear (physically) to have a longer torso and shorter legs. That combined with your stance and that quick transition into your low kick, i think that you could transition into that lead UC behind that low kick really well and it's not a combination that many guys are going to be accustomed to defending and IMO would open up some really deceptive transitions into building combo's. I watched you put the low kick behind that lead UC a few times, but I think if you put it behind the kick it'd really open up some creative ways to build combos.

Thanks. Gonna try that for sure. :)
