Pretty slick, short promo:

Smith says that Frankie has turned up the heat in recent times. He no longer is just looking to outlast opponents for decisions, but fighting mean, and looking for the finish.

He says Ortega is finishing guys that are supposed to be impossible to finish.

This is a really fun match-up, and the TRUE main event of UFC 222.

May the best man win.

Me picking a winner in this one !

Excellent fight this...

I disagree with Jimmy on one thing. When Frankie was at 155 I think it was harder for him to put some of the bigger guys away so he used his quickness to throw volume strikes at them. At 145 it certainly has been a different story but because he's fighting guys similar to his weight. Having said that, I MUCH prefer Jimmy Smith over Joe Rogan.

I mean Yair is still buried under the Octagon after the beating Frankie put on him. Poor lad, someone should get a shovel and dig him up. That shot he planted on Mendes chin put him straight out. Frank has power that's for sure.

It almost seemed like the UFC thought Frankie was going to start going downhill just because he couldn't beat Aldo and he had to let them know he isn't going anywhere. I remember thinking the fight between Frankie and Chad might be close and might favor Chad but Frankie had my jaw hit the floor faster than he dropped Mendes that night. He's a warrior for certain.

Frankie will prove his elite status once again.

I know Im gonna be flamed for this, and thats cool. Im picking Ortega. I think this is the fight where Edgar finally shows up shopworn. Sometimes its not a gradual decline in skills due to ring wars/ years of training/wrestling competition. Sometimes they show up as an old man overnight. Im calling it. Ortega 3 rd round sub. If Im wrong Ill just smile, beat off, and then have a beer. Or maybe, have a beer, beat off and smile.

Let's fucking go, Frankie. I have a bad feeling about this fight. But I always do when Edgar competes, cus I want him to win so damn bad
