Sadly there have been very few (if any) good game-to-movie movies so far. I'm not sure if it is because of the limited amount of time they get to tell a story but seeing as how they are only doing 90% remakes nowadays maybe trying video game movies again could be a good thing. The Witcher (great game) is actually in production for Netflix and I got high hopes for it since the writer of the books the game is based on is part of making it.
Video games I think could be great tv series or movies are:
Half Life: The story of an extremely high tech research facility which because of a technical failure opens a giant portal to a different planet, where an alien race that dominates big parts of the galaxy are. They are known as "the Combine" because they mix inhabitants of the worlds they try to take over with technology/different dna to make soldiers capable of fighting anywhere.
A doctor/researcher named Gordon Freeman tries to save the world and is sometimes in fatal situations but gets rescued by a mystical man only known as G-Man who always says cryptic things.
I believe it would work best as either a trilogy or a tv series.
Fallout: In the 50s mankind made nuclear energy viable and because of this made a lot of remarkable technology. Things were going great until they didnt, nuclear war started and the only survivors were people and animals who managed to adapt to the radation or were lucky enough to get to a "Vault" (a bunker made for nuclear war, supposed to be able to self sustainable for hundreds of years).
All the vaults were actually set up as different experiments (without telling the inhabitants), some froze down the inhabitants, some gave ex drug users a bunch of drugs after a while etc.
I think this video game would make a really cool gritty, dark, post apocalyptic tv show where they could follow a "vault dweller" or just follow the people who survived.
Any video games with cool premises or stories you think could make great movies or tv shows?
