Why no one wants it ??

Their fight....rumble was avoiding striking with take downs.

It would be great fight if both guys can stick to striking ??

A non-drugged up Vitor would lose horribly. Rumble is a complete beast at 205.

Vitor "on TRT" Belfort vs. Anthony "I don't know what weight class I'm in" Johnson was an odd fight, but Vitor "TRTless" Belfort vs. Anthony "Ohh, I'm a skullcrushing LHW" Johnson would be a slaughter. I'm a long time Belfort fan, and I believe the one we saw against Weidman is the one we have from here on out. I'll be shocked if he even makes it out of the 2nd round aginst "Jacare".

call me crazy, but i got vitor here again

inside round one he´s still the most dangerous fighter in a standup striking fight

"Victor" just beat up on old man Dan. I think he could hang with Rumble

At LHW, I don't give Belfort much of a chance here

Sure why not...I say this time around AJohnson lands the bomb and obliterates Vitor

Vitor turned Rumble into a panic wrestler.

This was what I was thinking in their last fight..

I'm not saying vitor wins...but it would be great if both guys decide to strike..

We cannot however ignore that Rumble should not even have been sanctioned to fight that night.

A fighter so dehydrated and sick as he was should never have been allowed to fight.

Dunno about Rambo Johnson, but Victor has a good chance against Anderson Aldo.

We should also not ignore the fact that Vitor made weight and Rumble didn't even come close, and was probably a good 30 lbs heavier come fight time.

Also, grappling gases you out more and his only realistic chance that fight was to go for the early knockout standing but he was still too shook to strike with Vitor and just spammed takedowns.

I don't ignore that.

The guy who does a proper camp and makes weight is at a huge advantage and he also deserves the win.

Coming in bigger because you are passing out from dehydration and need to be rushed onto an intravenous by doctors orders is not a benefit.

I am not picking sides or favorites here, just stating a fact. The commission should never sanction a fight where the guy is blacking out due to dehydration and cannot even come close to making weight hours before a fight. The whole 'oh but now he gets to fight bigger because he did not make weight' is just BS. there is no advantage in trying so hard to make weight and blacking out and failing and then having to go on IV by doctors order. None.

Ok fine, but you didn't comment on my other point.

If you're rumble and you come into that fight after such a rough weight cut, and you're basically known as a knockout artist, what do you think is your best strategy? To get into a grueling grapple heavy fight with a strong bjj black belt, or try to swing for the fences and hope to end it early?

Rumble's best chance was to go for the standing knockout, especially considering the circumstances you just mentioned, yet he still wanted no part of Vitor standing.
