Vettori shouldnt compromise at all

I have a feeling that Costa isn't in this fight mentally.
He doesn't see a path to the title, and so is bored and lacks motivation.
Now he has to fight a difficult dude, and I feel he almost didn't give a shit about his weight, so that the fight is easier or gets cancelled, either way he wouldn't care.
I think Vettori is going to win. He is much more motivated to get another shot at Israel, than Costa is.
If Costa gets beaten here, he might no longer give a S about MMA at all.

if drunk ass costa cant make the 185 lb weight limit then vettori should call off the fight, fuck that, fuck costa. too lazy to make weight so now it falls on Vettori to give up the advantage that he's earned in being in better shape, in having to risk going up to costa's weight. so unprofessional. this is the apex of the sport, cut Costa imo. he seems like a total joke
Sucky thing is Costa’s unprofessional conduct will screw Marvin with the fans.

if marvin plays hard ball and refuses to fight at catch weight, Costa’s going to attempt to spin the narrative to “Marvin cancelled the fight, i wanted to fight” & casuals who are not paying attention during the build up will point fingers at Marvin.

Who is he going to box? Jake Paul? Logan Paul? He isn't small enough or old enough. I don't think he is "Famous" enough either.

Besides the UFC won't just release him. They will make him fight out his contract and match him up with horrible match ups with no names and build others off of his name and run his name into the ground.

I understand how weight cutting works. A few or even several pounds isn't going to be the determining factor in the fight. It's definitely unprofessional and bullshit, but it's not some crazy outrageous advantage. People have been missing weight for decades, it's nothing new. Diaz and Costa are the only cases I can think of where they gave their opponent a heads up about it. A 4 day notice evens it up a bit by allowing the opponent to skip the hardest parts of their cut, and start rehydration earlier.

I respectfully disagree. I work professionally with this and from experience I see it completely different than you. To say that even several pounds doesn’t make that much of a difference it’s really a stretch IMO.
BUT, opionions are opinions, and you’re entitled to yours. If for you and your fighter, and fight camp, you think it’s fine and doesn’t change things, more power to you!
We can only have our own perspectives, and I respect yours, though I completely disagree.
best regards.

They should just cancel the fight and move Rick Glenn vs Dawson up to the main event spot, right?

it should be 190 with a limit of 205 in the cage

Costa is turning to a joke, he disqualified himself from a title shot

Nothing to cry about though. Vettori seems to have the right mindset about it. He's not that bothered.

Sure. I'm just saying Costa made Marvin work a little. If Costa is that big just less than a week out, did he ever plan on making weight? Sucky as it is, this is a better approach than showing up without saying anything, but still. I wonder what is going through Costa's mind...

I guess Izzy forever took his soul. I dont claim to be an izzy fan but he makes weight and defends his title. One can only imagine if Costa had won how things would play out.....

After watching their interview yesterday, I actually think Costa may be trolling. Or at least intended to troll, not realizing they'd agree on catchweight prior to the weigh-in. His responses seem rehearsed or premeditated. He's being too vague and playing dumb.

I used to compete, I understand your view 100%, I just don't feel that strongly about a little bit of weight. I never cut much and always preferred sparring with the bigger guys. It was a different mindset back then, I think. We would typically see the other guy as a bitch or pussy if they were trying to miss on purpose. Not very common, granted, but that was how we looked at it. Just make fun of them for thinking it was that important, and acknowledge it was a bitch move.

That said, this is on a much bigger stage and is obviously a bigger deal than my experience. I guess I'm just stating that the advantage isn't that significant.

It's within his right's and more fighters should do this.

Professional athletes my ass.

But we all know why it won't happen dana and the powers that be wouldn't look to kindly on that.

Marvin, "He can't make the contracted weight, so I'm not fighting. And it's within my rights to still get paid"

Dana, <31>

When marvin asks for a fight later down the roard.<{danayeah}>

Would be an awful troll attempt. Since now the catch weight is official, and he’s giving up 20% of his purse. What a doofus.

Lmao the advantage IS significant. Weight difference is a massive advantage in fighting sport, and it's not just weight but also the consequences of cutting which Costa is barely going to have. Someone cutting vs. someone completely diregarding cutting are two very different fighters.

Costa is such a sucker, taking zero responsibility. Vettori all day.,
