Vettori shouldnt compromise at all

Definitely unprofessional move by Costa, but a few pounds isn't going to make or break the outcome. I hope Diaz didn't start a trend of this shit becoming more common.
Yes but we have seen Vettori's history, saw what happened when his opponent pulls out of a fight. I think they did this on purpose. They knew he'd take it,and didnt bother cutting. This is unacceptable.

Is there a possibility Coster is trolling Vettori to provoke Marvin to miss weight?

I dont know what you mean.

This will all be settled before the fight. His dumbass said publicly he doesnt want to make weight. UFC gonna be completley up his ass now, because they have to make the fight as fair as they can, they must get involved.

Technically, everything he says during promotion means nothing, it can all be an act. UFC haven't commented on this yet, it's possible they asked him behind the scenes and he was like "lol wut yeah nah".

Meanwhile Vettori's somewhere stressing out, not getting any clear facts, thinking they're about to come to him with an offer, going through a rough cut himself, possibly missing weight.

Remember, Vet's one of the biggest cutters himself: https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/compilation-of-fighters-cage-weight-redux.3977251/

2nd only to Costa at MW. So it's not a bad strategy to mess with the weight to get into Vet's head. But, again, wishful thinking here. Cause otherwise, this is so unprofessional from Paulo.

UFC has to get involved now that Costa is publicly saying he cant make weight. If something bad happens to Vettori, and it is revealed UFC took no part in this, they are liable.

I guess? But Conor said he was gonna do a murder to Doostin's skin, if something bad did happen - would UFC had been liable then?

A few pounds before the weigh ins can actually mean several pounds by fight night, and it can make a whole lot of difference.
It’s not just the pounds , but the cut itself. Not really cutting versus someone who was cutting can represent a big advantage in the way your system works.
MMA needs to seriously get bigger consequences for not making weight, as this is clearly becomes a trend. Some guys (not saying it’s Costa’s case) are seeing this as an advantages, as improving the win odds is more rewarding than the punishment they get, which is financial only.
Nobody really remembers or mentions that a fighter didn’t make weight after they win.
IMO we need sportive punishments as well as financiais. When fighters start to lose scorecard points, along with the money, for not making weight things will change.
Usually the money penalty doesn’t even comprehend the win bonus, just the show money, which honestly I can’t understand the logic behind it.

This is obviously a very specific thing UFC has to do something about. Vettori's camp obviously is going to want assurances or the fight is not going to happen.

if it was a higher weight class from the get go i get what u mean, but for him to already have cut the weight and now paulo is straight up saying he's not even cutting. that puts marvin at a huge disadvantage. cut Costa get him out!

Costa would still be cutting...he said he is at 211 and was hoping for a catchweight at 195 from what I have seen/read...

its not the weight per say, its the fact that he's not depleting himself at all to cut.
That would be a much bigger deal if it wasn't this far out. Vettori has plenty of time to adjust his cut.

Edit: If they agree to something like 195 then Costa will still have a pretty hard cut but Vettori will have any easy cut and I'd assume Vettori would negotiate for part of Costa's purse.

if drunk ass costa cant make the 185 lb weight limit then vettori should call off the fight, fuck that, fuck costa. too lazy to make weight so now it falls on Vettori to give up the advantage that he's earned in being in better shape, in having to risk going up to costa's weight. so unprofessional. this is the apex of the sport, cut Costa imo. he seems like a total joke
cannot argue with that.
Costa dismally failed to even TRY.

He's like "I'm fat, i'm 96kgs (211.6lbs) and I we need to make it a catchweight".
What happened to contracted fight weights?

The dude just admitted to being 25.6lbs over the max permissible weight of 186lbs. SO....hey why don't you TRY Paulo??
He needs to suffer for his sins.

i think costa is doing all this, because he knows that vettori will take the fight regardless of weight. in reality, vettori wants this fight a lot more than costa, because vettori wants to get his career back on track with a win over a big name. costa, i just don't understand the guy. he seemed like the same kind of guy, but it also seems like he doesn't want to be there. very weird indeed. weird is the right word to use. i have no idea how both guys will come out for this one.
