Vegans of Sherdog

I remember there being nothing but "weird" vegan options in health food stores and now most grocery stores have at least some basic items.

Used to have to make everything from scratch, which is good...but very time consuming. We need our easy quick meals too gosh darn it!

hahaha, "oh, this is NASA space food that comes in powdered form... I guess that I will try it."

I like most of the typical non dairy milks that are available: Almond, soy, coconut, cashew. Always unsweetened, otherwise its too close to drinking junk food.

I mainly use them for shakes and smoothies or for baking. I never eat cereal or drink them on their own.
You should try ripple pea milk. Has 8 grams of protein. Not bad for a milk substitute.

Unsweetened soy milk has the same macros as skim milk. That should be your first vegan milk option.

Lol you would have been much better off buying an assortment of canned beans, particularly chick peas and black beans. They can be microwaved after rinsing and provide a good deal of protein, fiber and minerals. Along with a big bowl of fresh fruit in your room you would have been solid.

I tried to do this sort of thing as much as I could... But I still craved some "hot comfort food".

Got to look this stuff up, haven't heard of it before.
I get it at Whole Foods. Iirc it came out last year. Has great nutritional values with little to no sugar depending on the type you get.

45% of your daily calcium in one glass. It's pretty boss. Only 4 ingredients: water, pea, cane sugar, sunflower oil.

I feel ya. My vegan comfort food is lightly frying a whole wheat pita in olive oil and dipping in copious amounts of hummus.

In a few years (4 or 5) Im going to be able to stay home and cook (too long to explain why thats just whats going to happen if Im still fucking alive)... Ive always wanted to turn vegetarian but since I didnt have time to cook and I couldnt afford to pay outside food I thought it wasnt going to be possible... well now I will have the time to cook my own meals however Im not planning to turn completely vegetarian.... After doing some research I dont think eating a little meat is harmful at all...so Im planning to keep meat on my diet (beef, chicken and fish I mean) but what I will DEFINITELY do is based all my meals more on vegetables and fruit and good organic ingredients...meat will be kept from time to time and only as a side thing on the plate...it will definitely not be the main ingredient on my plate.... Im planning to based a lot of my lunch and dinner dishes on doing some kick ass salads....of course Im planning to learn A LOT MORE than what I know now, but thats the intention and I still have time to prepare.

I've been vegan for quite a bit of time now. The diet part is really easy for me now, the hard part is being a vegan in an area where people hate vegans. At work people always get on me for not eating meat. Yet these are the same people that would murder someone for looking at their dog the wrong way.

Yeah that sucks. :(

I still get all the dumb ass typical vegan "jokes" from family and coworkers.

Your vegan game is weak. Like your diet.

I eat this for breakfast almost every morning in Malaysia.
