Thought I'd make a poll for this potential upcoming fight. This is the fight to make really. Hopefully it materializes and I can't wait.

Haney
too big
and skillfull enough to bridge the gap betwix him and Loma
plus he is pretty damn good at smothering and being physical, which would be even more pronounced against Loma

My heart wants loma to KO him though

Loma is getting older and he's not the boxer he once was, couple that with the fact he could fight at SFW and Haney is moving up to SLW in the near future.

I'd go as far as to say that anyone who genuinely thinks Loma will win this fight at this stage is suffering from some form of cognitive impairment.

"This lightweight, is this lightweight? Its heavyweight, no it's heavyweight"

"In the ring, I'll show you"

Wow. You couldn't write better dialogue in a movie

Loma walks through sharp straights to get hugged by the bigger, stronger guy whenever he sets a combo. Terrible matchup.

i voted lomachenko but it's probably wishful thinking.

if the struggles in his last fight were just ring rust and he'll be in his usual form when he fights haney, then i see it as a toss up. if he really did grow old and lost a step, then haney handles him pretty easily.

hoping for a good fight. is it confirmed they're next for eachother?

I said it before and I’ll say it again.
Loma will never be appreciated enough as a pro by the hardcore fans. He is literally what could have been his 5th weight class to hold a world belt in, had he turned pro after winning his first olympics.

I’m just hoping we get to see Jalalov in a few title fights before he turns 30.

I predict loma losses 5 rounds of the first 6 and then in the end doesnt catch up.

with people giving loma 11 rounds and calling it a robbery.

Haney by decision in a fight that seems less important than it should have been.

Loma as "great" as he is has shown flaws at close range and I don't know what happened vs Lopez because he lost that at distance.

This is the most likely outcome.

Haney isn't just a lot bigger but he knows how to use it as well and will fend off Lomachenko for 12 rounds and win a clear and boring decision.

he’s literally one of the most fellated and overrated fighters of the modern era. the amount of lomachenko dicksucking done in hardcore boxing circles from 2015-2019 was horrific. those people have since moved on to usyk, another great but absurdly overappreciated fighter.

The haters can go suck a dick and cry themselves to sleep. Dude is a lock for the hall of fame.

i never understood this criticism.

how can a guy that holds all sorts of records for winning world titles be so overrated? do you feel he shouldn't be considered a top fighter, despite his achievements? are you complaining about him being ranked too highly p4p, a literal fantasy ranking?

on that note, how exactly is usyk overrated? he's the first man since evander holyfield to unify at cruiserweight and take the HW title. how should he be rated?

it’s more the direct comparisons to superheroes, computers, and the matrix. lots of idiots claiming he’s the best/most technical boxer they’ve ever seen.

he should be rated as a human being, first and foremost. since loma’s loss, he’s the new “matrix” guy that people say is “unbeatable” or a “boxing computer” it’s all horseshit.

well you must be fun at parties.

Haney isn’t strong enough to bully Loma. This is a stylistically favorable matchup for Loma, even if he’s looked like she’s struggled these last few bouts. This bout is the turning point for his career imo, he either maintains elite status or is on a downfall for sure.

You don't understand a lot in boxing. He turned pro more prepared than most because he spent forever as an AM. He was then served up a title shot completely undeserved in his 2nd fight and still lost vs a fighter with 11 losses. Next fight he was given another title shot and won. Then rushed through a couple more divisions beating a few good fighters but no elites, and everyone got on his dik. Then he loses to a green Lopez and everyone makes excuses.

He is manufactured and spoiled. I bet many many fighters could have won titles just as fast if they were given the chances he was given. He also lost vs Ortiz so his real record is 16-3. Never in history has someone with that record been hyped as a P4p let alone ATG level lol.

Casuals like you just look at records on paper, and ignore who he fought and who he lost to.

Lomachenko has never looked good against elite level fighters. He built his legend on the Jason Sosa's of the boxing world. Its kind of weird to read over his boxing record and see there's not really much there for a guy so highly regarded.
I think Haney basically ends Loma's run as a top level fighter.
