Might be a good idea to skip the vape pens...

After having the device for about a month, it exploded in Austin’s mouth. The blast was so strong, it cracked his jaw, shattered a small piece of the bone and knocked out some of his teeth.

yea I used to vape and this is actually what made me go back to tobacco..its not common, at all, but always a possibility. plus there would be times where I would have to leave my vape(which had huge, powerful batteries) in my car, in the middle of summer, where the inside would reach well over 100 degrees. No matter how well made a vape may be or how high quality the batteries are, that is always dangerous. I would always stress in the back of my mind, worried about coming out to my car in flames.

the real problem is people buy shitty setups from china that have absolutely zero safety features or quality control. and then on top of that, some people dont even know how to properly charge the batteries.

Must have shorted our or punctured the lithium battery inside.

This is actually really scary.

Do the cheap disposable pens have enough power to explode this way?

Mechanical mods are the most dangerous but I never had any issues with mine

Once you move on to electric Vapes with temp control, internal regulation and computer chips you have nothing to worry about at all.

That said, I used vaping to get off cigs, then I moved on to snus, then I quit snus.

That's a vape pen? It looks like a firecracker. How come he had trouble dropping it?
That’s what happens when you puncture a lithium battery. Stab your laptop, cell phone, or Tesla and it’ll do the same thing.
I’ve seen a lot of people have a rope loop to go around there wrist so they don’t drop it. I’m guessing that’s why he couldn’t drop it

The same thing could happen to anything that has lithium batteries, like cellphones, for example

1. Don't buy cheap batteries ( I go brand-name on batteries; usually Sony)
2. Don't buy cheap devices (you want regulated mods with safety features; not that mechanical shit)
3. Replace your batteries every 4-6 months.
4. ????
5. Profit by keeping jaw
