You are the Nomad — an elder vampire awakening from a century-long slumber, new to the modern nights. Trapped in your Blood is a stranger’s voice. This entity, a vampire detective known as Fabien, will be your guide to 21st-century Seattle. You will explore the city through his eyes as well as those of the Nomad, as you revisit a cold case from a hundred years ago that is threatening undead and mortal society alike.

Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.

Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger. However, be cautious about breaking the Masquerade: revealing your true nature risks reprisals, starting with law enforcement and escalating from there. Remember, you are not the only creature that goes bump in the night.

Experience immersive, visceral combat that rewards various playstyles and approaches based on your choice of vampire clan. Will you engage in close combat with supernatural strength, attack from a distance with blood sorcery, or silently thin the herd like the apex predator you are? Your clan choice will support these playstyles and more.

Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots, and schemes will determine the balance of power and what becomes of the city and its people.

Some first impressions,

This video shows a couple hours of gameplay. It looks like it could function as a decent action game but lacks much of the RPG of it's predecessor,

Locking two clans behind a day one DLC paywall like assholes is also proving to be a very unpopular decision.

I want it to be good but a few things worry me. First it’s that it has been in development hell. I think it was first announced like 8 years ago.

Second, are they really having you play two premade characters? Character creation is kind of core to Masquerade. I mean it might work out, but that seems like a poor choice to me.

"Action stealth game with RPG elements". Fucking lost me completely.
At first I'm like, holy shit they made it out of development Hell?

Then I see that quote.

Damn, just pour a bucket of ice on that spark.

Given how much of a shitshow the old game was at launch and how it needed a fan made patch to get to playable condition I'll see if the patches make this decent by 2026.

Im still curious what all the drama was with the old developers. It might have been taking awhile, but big RPGs often do, and it at least seemed liked it was going to be an open world vampire rpg. I dont even know what this crap is or who they're trying to market it to. The World of Darkness rpg buffs that actually just want an action game? The whole point of the IP is its layers of lore and backstory. Its literally a perfect setting a for a big rpg.

Yeah the whole point is rpg with tons of customization, not so much the action.

Something more like Baldur's Gate 3 without the turn based aspect.

I am a huge fan of the original and was hoping 2 would include all the best things about the original with bigger worlds, etc.

Turns out they took out 50% of the best parts of 1 and added a bunch of gay shit for 2.

Might buy it at 75% off at this point.

I’m thinking I’m just not going to get it. Joe you go to have premade characters and put clans behind paywalls? You guys even making a Masquerade game?

All clans are available at launch for Bloodlines 2. Additional story content announced for after launch.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2: Lasombra and Toreador clans are confirmed for the base game at launch, making all 6 clans playable for everyone!

"Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing," said Marco Behrmann, White Wolf Executive Vice President and Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer.

I haven't really been paying attention to this game since I heard it was in development hell a while ago, with the entire team getting sacked. I looked into it a bit now that it's a few weeks away and.... wtf happened here?? This doesn't sound anything like VTM1.

I like the Chinese Room dev team, thought they did a great job with Amnesia. It was very different from Amnesia the TDD, and inferior, but it was still a cool world and a game worth playing. Still Wakes the Deep is pretty cool too, but I only played an hour or so of a pirated version, always meant to pick it up.

I'm sure this will be a good game, but from what I'm hearing it doesn't deserve to be called a sequel. It should have its own designation, like a Machine for Pigs was for Amnesia.

this is on my buy list next. but it wont be at release as I have Ghost of Yotei to finish (just started) and I finally want to give Alien Isolation a proper go.
