Valentina is not only the greatest flyweight and the champion she's also the record holder for the most title defenses. Manon Fiorot just beat Katlyn Chookagian to become the UFC's #1 contender at flyweight. Winning by UD in a tough three-rounder where she was a big underdog Fiorot surprised the UFC bookmakers. Valentina is the smaller woman about 2 inches shorter. However, she does have a reach advantage. Fiorot likes to come in and attack as well as take her opponent down to the ground. She's not into staying on the ground and usually uses it to gain points in fights that look like they might go the distance.

Valentina said she's interested in fighting either Fiorot or Grasso next. In a battle between Valnetina Shevchenko vs Manon Fiorot who do you favor?

Out of the possible contenders in Fiorot, Grasso, and Santos, I'm least interested in Fiorot at the moment. I just don't see anything special in her other than her size and athleticism.

Valentina is ducking Santos so hard, it's embarrasing.

I'm interested. Manon will never be goat but she's a legit contender on a 10 fight winning streak. Santos deserves a rematch but it would also be nice to see Valentina fight someone new. Will watch.

Im more More interested in Fiorot than Grasso.

What most interests me most about this fight is how Manon's distance control fairs against Valentina though I do have big concerns

Up until the Chook fight everyone Manon's opponents had a lot of difficulty putting up sustained offense against her because they struggled against her range control range.

What worries was just how well Chook was able to find Manon with her strikes. hat said Manon was still able to double up Chook in strikes in second round which is very impressive

What gives some hope was apparently Manon was injured during that fight and that may explain why she wasn't able to control the distance as well as before.

Other variables I find interesting....

Every single time Manon has been in grappling exchange she has managed to a win and get top position on her opponents

Manon has a very signifigant size advantage over Valentina. She looks like should be quite stronger could stop Valentina from trying muscle her in the clinch

Manon also seems to have a signifigant power advantage over Valentina

And lastly she is fairly high volume striker while Valentina doesn't put too much out there. If Manon can find Valentina consistently she is likely to outwork her
