USA Grappling federation needs a coaching structure like Russia, Italy, France etc

Highlights from 2013 European Championship (When UWW was still called FILA)

Nice video.

The lack of USA Grappling coaching courses isn't a good strategy. Combat Wrestling and catch as catch can have a coaching structures contrary to Grappling, a wrestling style under UWW. I don't understand..

Each National Federation is autonomous in organizing it is internal activity. USA Wrestling is the governing body for Grappling in the USA.

You can contact them at [email protected]

The USA doesnt need coaches courses. We have all of the best BJJ blackbelts already coaching here. Charging for coaches courses isnt needed and is a waste. It would be like America starting a Cricket league and telling India their coaches need to take courses in how to operate if they want to compete in America.

Grappling has a different ruleset and it is a different style.
In Europe and Asia there are a lot of good jj schools but there are also Grappling coaches (and official programs) under the national wrestling federations.
There are not only freestyle coaches but also greco and folkstyle specialists because there are different rules.

I am aware they are different styles, but the style differences are minimal; they can be explained in less than 30 seconds. Charging world class blackbelts to take a course that explains there is no guard pulling, reaping is legal, and the restarts are slightly different is not needed; it would just be a way for the organizing body to make money off of coaches who understand the sport at a much higher level than they do.

In Europe or Asia, this may be needed where there are virtually no world class level blackbelts, but in America where they are all over the place, it would be a scam.

BTW, while he is presumably too humble to mention this, Holt actually placed third (I believe) at last year's UWW grappling world championships. So it's not like he is ignorant of the ruleset.

How often do you have these events, yearly?

Every year United World Wrestling (Olympic wrestling federation) organize:

- World Grappling Championship
This year is set to be in Minsk, Belarus from 29 sept to 3 Oct. Next year should be in Brazil.

-European Grappling Championship
This year is set to be in Rome, Italy from 14 to 18 July. Next year should be in Serbia.

From this year should be organized also:

- PanAm Grappling Championship
This year was supposed to be in August in Chicago, but will probably be moved to California in November.

- Asian Grappling Championship
It should be in Iran

Every 4 years are organized World Combat Games that are the Olympics for Combat Sports. Grappling feature in it since first edition.
Next edition was supposed to be in Lima in 2017, but cancelled after political problems within SportAccord and will be relocated to probably 2018 or 2019 somewhere else.
