Usman is underrated. He may be ahead of GSP. His fight against Khamzat was incredible, he won that fight. Leon was his kryptonite.

I don't think Khamzat is a good fighter. Whenever he gets pushed to the limit, he barely squeezes it out.

And he's like 30.

When Jones was his age, he was already over the hill.
Being pushed to limit and not crumbling is kind've a huge trait for a good fighter.

If that was a 5 round fight Usman would have stopped him no doubt about it.
He got dominated in the first 10-08. Rounds 2 & 3 Khamzat draw him with a broken hand and fewer. Clear 30-28. However MMA doesn't award draw rounds. I guess it's 29-27 than.

He did well and at MW. Still he is washed. His age and the state of his body, his knees are used up, Leon KOd him. He is done at this point in the top 3.

It's normal he is expired at 37 or whatever his age is.

I don't believe Usman won that fight but you are right about Leon being Usman's kryptonite.

Shavkat and Garry showed me nothing that makes me believe they would run through the current version of Usman even if he is on the down slide.

Usman is seriously underrated people are acting as if he is washed up. He won the Khamzat fight to many people and look what Khamzat did to Whitaker and others.

If that was a 5 round fight Usman would have stopped him no doubt about it.

Leon was just his kryptonite precision striker with good enough grappling to keep him off.
I don't think he won, I think it was 28-28. 10-8 R1 for Khamzat, R2+R3 for Usman = 28-28 draw

But a draw was a crazy good performance for being up a weight class on short notice

There is no possible way for Usman to have won that fight unless you inexplicably gave Khamzat a 10-9 for round 1 after Usman was controlled for 90% of the round, was out struck 61-5, and was almost finished with a RNC.

Scoring it 28-28 is reasonable and so is 29-27 Khamzat. Those are the only 2 possible scores and anything else should be ignored.
For real too many people call Khamzat Vs Usman a robbery

To lose for 10-8 in first round by Khamzat is gonna to become normal. He did It with Whittaker and is gonna to do It with Dricus/Strickland
Sure but I don't see what that does for Usman. The 1st round was EASILY the most significant part of the fight and I think Usman deserves a lot of credit for surviving it but IMO he gets too much credit for his performance in the 3rd round. Burns survived Khamzat too and you don't hear anyone hyping him to the moon now.

Usman was a great fighter who could have been an even greater champion if he didn't waste so much time with rematches but he's almost 38... I think him surviving is more of a knock on Khamzat's cardio than it is Usman's current abilities considering the latter hasn't looked that good in several years. Prime vs Prime I think Usman would have a very good shot to win but I'm not jumping on the "Usman's still got it" bandwagon based on, what is IMO, a very misleading fight

He's not washed up but we have already seen the best Marty from Nebraska. He's still great but he's slipped a little. He lost to Khamzat. If it was 5 rounds he would've won. It was 3 rounds so he lost.

Usman showed the world news things in his last fight

First things first, Usman lost against Khamzat. If you say that fight was a draw i can understand but first round clearly 10-8 for khamzat so there is no way Usman won that night. And Usman is really god fighter without doubt. I would say he is in the top 5-6 in the whole WW history. And what i want to say about his fighting style is he is a very good defensive wrestler. What i mean by that is this guy is hard to get taken down, but he is never a very aggressive wrestler, he couldnt event take down Masvidal without struggle you know what i mean. But khamzat is way different fighter, very very aggressive style wrestling. For this reason obviosly defensive wrestlers or good BJJ guys (like burns) stylistically hard for khamzat we can say. But the truth is guy is very good so i cant see anybody in WW-MW can beat khamzat. But if he goes LHW, then we can talk about how great this guy is.

Usman will be about 38 the next time he fights. He's on a 3 fight losing streak and hasn't fought in over a year. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you but father time is undefeated.

Personally I'm putting Usman ahead of Hughes ( the two wins over Colby alone seals the deal for me ) But I can respect why you put Hughes second.

I think it's a matter of what exactly are you ranking. Usman is a better fighter than Hughes, I hope everyone gets that, but you have to judge Hughes in his own context.

Delusional thread title...but it is just a bad troll attempt, so...*yawn*.

Prime Hughes would be WW champ told. Top notch MMA wrestling. Despite not having a BJJ belt his BJJ being advanced black belt level. MMA cardio King. Never got tired. Expert weight cutter.

I know recency bias is a real thing but damn. Gotta respect what he did in the cage. You can't tell me belel would beat a prime Hughes.
