Gym owners/DYI people. I have a ton of left over wrestling mat. I would love to use it to help mat some of my wall space. Normally, with foam, this wouldn't be a problem. Wrestling mat as you know is very dense. I would think it would tear through any nail/liquid nail or even if it was bolted to the concrete wall. Any suggestions/ideas on how I could do this?

I think the 'feels like concrete' applies to all old mats.
I would worry that mats may tear away from the backing over time, if only the back is glued to the wall.

I haven't done it, but consider sandwiching the top of the mat (above head level) against the wall using 2x4s or 2x6s, using wall bolts with sleeve anchors to hold the wood firmly in place.

Remember to think about the surface: a wrestling mat may tear dry wall down (and won't protect the dry wall from the impact of dudes hitting it).

use large wide washer with the bolt you putting it on the wall. should keep it from tearing. just make sure its on both sides.

This is a good idea, and I've seen similar things done, just cover your bases and legal fees by covering the 2x4's even if they are above head height

I had an easy solution to my wall mats- I purchased a roll of (standard width - 6 foot) 1 inch think dollamur roll up mats.

Before I had the mats shipped out, I requested that Dollamur cut them in half - 2 long pieces that were 3 feet wide each.

I then used industrial velcro to hold up the pads- and haven't had a problem with them in 3+ years.

You can see them on my homepage bjjgainesville.com

(To answer your original question- I would assume the wrestling mats are similar in weight as my dollamur mats- so you should be fine!)

No, there were not dollamur mats, there were regular wrestling mats.

This is what we do in our wrestling room. Zero problems and is also removable if needed. Using adhesive to stick a mat to a wall pretty much guarantees the mat will only be useable on that side, and the option is permanent.
