Pre-USADA Weidman was fortunate to be champ honestly.

He recieved a title shot before he had to fight Rockhold, Jacare, Romero, Mousasi. Even back in '12, those were the 4 toughest fights in the division and Weidman didn't have to go through any of them to get to Silva.

And he's currently 0-3 against the group of them, being brutally stopped each time.

It's just strange that in the "USADA Era" he has been brutally stopped 3 times in a row and has only beaten a blown up WW, who almost knocked him out also.

An elite, clean fighter should be flourishing after USADA came into town. Very odd. That's all.

In his defense (the fact that he took PEDs, I mean), I can say that he didn't have much competition until Silva. Maybe Maia and that was a close decision. The Silva fight... some say it was luck + Silva being too fucking cocky and confident. But Weidman fought well. Than he fought old Lyoto and old Vitor, both clearly out of their prime. Luke and Mousasi were simply just better than him and better than his past competition (except Silva). And Yoel, well, steroids, no secret here.

And Gastelum may be a blown up WW, but the guy KOed 4 good MWs/former LHWs: Kennedy, marquandt, Belfort, Bisping.

He's a good fighter, he's capable of winning in the UFC au naturale. No proof of him cheating but is record is definitely suspect based on the downturn after USADA. I believe he'll get some more wins but his best days are behind him.
