USADA doesn't exist to create a clean sport. They exist to 'MARKET' a clean sport.

As the title suggests:

Testing isn't here to create a clean sport. It is to 'market' a clean sport. The illusion of a clean sport = more revenue. Even fictitious 'sports' like the WWE know what's up. It's the same reason Usain Bolt will never test positive in track: Dude shatters drugs fuelled records by scientifically impossible margins and is magically clean… They bust him and the sport is ruined.

I don't know what everyone's problems with PED's are. Training 3x per day is not natural. Getting kicked in the head is not natural. Getting choked unconscious is not natural…

Nothing about professional sports is natural, and yet we want to believe that the athletes are? It makes no sense. It's like some weird superman complex where:

It's all real, but just like formula one cars, professional athletes need the right 'supplements' to do their jobs. Everyone needs to just grow up and accept it. Doesn't take away from the athletes accomplishments. You still need to be an incredibly gifted athlete. Some bum on the street isn't going to turn into Jon Jones with PED's.

Instead we get individual [Expendable] fighters singled out as sacrificial lambs taking the heat for something that every single person is doing. It's corrupt by the UFC and ignorant by the fans.

Meh. I like supplementation but guys take it too far.

Unfortunately, that means no supplementation for anybody.

I agree that USADA is probably 80% there to affect perception and 20% there because anybody really gives a shit.

100% accurate. Some people don't get it. PEDs are a job requirement for high level atheletes.

I don't get this line of reasoning at all. It's basically like this:
-these chemicals, which are against the rules, make a person perform better.
-thus many of the people at the top of the sport are people who both have natural talent, and take PEDs.
-therefore it should be ok for everyone to take PEDs.

WTF? Wearing spikes on MMA gloves would make everyone "perform better", but it doesn't mean everyone should be allowed to do it.

Wait, so you think most fighters AREN"T using?

I do think the number is less than 50%. I'm not sure how much less. If everyone was doing it there would be a lot more violations. They are actually fairly few and far between for an organization of the UFC's size and the number of tests performed by USADA.

Thanks for enlightening us peasants

Whether you deem it 'ok' is irrelevant. It's necessary. Take Usain Bolt. He is likely the best sprinter in the world. Everyone he beats is doing the exact same thing BUT…

If he doesn't take PED's he likely runs closer to 9.95… Still awesome, but nobody on planet earth would know who he is, he would have no world records, no medals, no money and no fame.

Man you are 100% correct on this TS. The only reason why this masquerade as to be in place is because most people's ego cannot fathom someone being better than them "because of something that they're taking, while I'm not, even if his genetics are way better than mine" Steroid use brings in elite performances, which brings in more fan to the table. At the same time, you put in place a protocol to make sure to bust a few people, in order to give confidence to the masses that they're sport heroes are squeeky clean. Most's peoples ego can't handle the use of steroids in others, so that's why this masquerade is needed.

Even a clearer fact about this is the Youtube fitness community. You actually have people looking like bodybuilder from the 70's ( who weren't that big since they didn't juice as much) and you have a legion of fans believing them like crazy, even though they've been fallowing their programs for years... and don't quite look like them.

When you get honest, or get caught doping... you get the Lance treatment (get your hard earned titles taken away from you... without a positive test)... or more recently the Sharapova treatment where, all of your sponsors drop you the second you got caught... even though you probably would never have had these sponsors without the juice. It's all a big game! For me, an athlete taking juice is just like being caught in a busy intersection left turn when the light turn amber: It ain't necessarily safe to take it, but hey you do what you have to do. Athletes are doing the same... there's millions on the line.

Ok tin foil man.

They sure are busting a lot of their fighters and not letting them, you know, fight, which is how they (the UFC) make their money.

It isn't creating the illusion of a clean sport to me.

And are Machida, Mir, Romero, Penn, Mendez, and CroCop really "dispensable" fighters?

No, just because your boyfriend got popped doesn't mean that everybody is doing it. You notice how when these guys get popped they always say "everybody else is doing it" because they want to take the attention away from themselves and away from the fact that they got caught.
