USA vs Russia

With Russian parliament now authorizing Putin to sent troops into other areas of Ukraine, Obama would force to intervene. So who takes this

There won't be direct conflict between Russia and the US so this whole thread is moot. But hypothetically if it happened (excluding the use of nuclear weapons of course, which level all playing fields); the US would win an open conflict with Russia handily.

so how much would you makE?? How much is your life worth and your morality?? Sounds pretty cheap to me.

It will be more than our soldiers make today. Morally, I say they are pretty close. Playing soldier is just more straight forward. Maybe it is just better to be a mercenary. You can choose your own battles.

LOOK, somebody has to stabilize the Ukraine.. SOMEBODY has to make sure things don't fall into 100% anarchy, SOMEBODY has to spend a couple billion making sure 60% of the people of that nation don't kill each other and then starve..

The U.S can pretend publically to be all mad, but the reality is SOMEBODY HAD TO DO SOMETHING, and because of the money our gov (and its corp masters) are glad it's not us.

We aren't fighting with Russia for stabilizing the Ukraine.

Regular soldiers do the dirty jobs for governments. Mercenaries do the real dirty, dirty jobs for governments, those so dirty that they (the governments) don't want even to be associated with...

Lol goodluck.

Lets be honest, anywhere on the planet the US would beat the absolute shit out of Russia if we felt like it.

They'd be a tougher fight than our recent opposition of the last 30 years or so sure.. but there isn't a single country in the world right now that could stand up to motivated US in conventional warfare. We're way too far ahead technologically if nothiong else.

We also have a Navy and Airforce that doubles the sizes of pretty much any other military on the plantet in those departments.

As long as we don't go into Russia with a mind to settle in there, and we just go in to beat ass, they will get schooled. Shit, smartest thing to do would really be just go into the Ukraine, sweep them out then leave it at that. But if we had too..

Nukes would be their equalizer, but if they felt the need to pull that card, well, that tells you everything you'd need to know about how confident they really are in a military confrontation with us.

This. And Putin knows it as well. That's why we won't see Russian tanks rolling across the border into Poland anytime soon. In a straight fight without Nukes, Fedor is getting kerb-stomped by Cain. American military tech is at least a generation ahead of anything the Russians have.

And no one wants to use Nukes. I'm not a fan of JFK, but he was absolutely right when he said that in a Nuclear War, the living would envy the dead.

Agreed.

Neither the US nor Russia will fight over this anyways. The Russians chose a country they knew we wouldn't fight over for a reason.

Like you said, lets see them try this shit with Poland lol

Also keep in mind, we're bringing the Brits and CANadians along with us anywhere we go -probably be able to get the Germans to roll with us too. They don't want any.

Germany said the same thing.

Right now, it's not about your amount of troops, or war ships, or amount of nukes. It's about your hacking capabilities. China and Russia beat out the u.s. and pretty much every other country in that regard. Not just that, but if shit really hits the fan you can bank that Latin America will invade the u.s.

Haven't they already?

And lol @ hacking being the great equalizer here.

4chan would probably shut Russia down without our help if they wanted to.

Russia vs us would simple be another cold war. Without using nukes each country is too far and to big to invade

I read a book by a British soldier who had served in the Para's back in the 70's. His Battalion had been sent to West Germany to train with one of the Heer's Armored Regiments. A German officer was giving the British soldiers a lecture on the new German Main Battle Tank,

"You will notice that the axle is very high. This is to ensure the tank does not get bogged down in heavy snow."

The German's eye's glazed over and he whispered,

"Next time we go into Russia, their winter will not save them...":icon_twis

Not aggressively, though. It wouldn't be good for the u.s. if latin forces ran wild in the region, especially in Cali and Florida.

Control of u.s. resources or allied resources would be critical for a win. All that technology wouldn't be of use to us if it's being controlled by the enemy and most of the hacking operations are supposedly being ran by China and nations in the eastern bloc.

The 2nd amendment in the US would come in real handy if anyone was ever dumb enough to try and invade lol. Not to mention the training, solidarity and organization of things like our law enforcement and so on. It wouldn't be a bright idea for any country to invade the US at this point in time.

lol

Awesome.

Tho, I would argue that Russia's winter wasn't the only thing that saved them there.. it was really Hitler being dumb enough to try and fight a massive war on multiple fronts thinning his supply lines and so on that beat them. In alot of ways, the Germans beat themselves in that war.

Pupi, we have well over 100 million armed citizens in this country -and more than enough potential to arm alot more if need be. Thats not counting law enforcement, reserves and so on.

A poorly funded mostly para-military invasion from an unreliable currupt latin army would not get very far invading the US. Sorry.

Agreed. No one can doubt the toughness of the Russian soldiers in WWII, but they had several factors in their favor.

- The decision to invade in summer rather than spring, thus shortening the time available to fight before winter sets in.

- Splitting the German forces because of Hitler's obsession with capturing Stalingrad, a city with no strategic value.

- Lack of cold weather clothing and equipment, because the Nazis were expecting a relatively mild winter. In fact, it turned out to be unusually harsh even by Russian standards.

- Last but not least, millions of tons of supplies from the USA(Lend Lease)which was delivered by the British Merchant Navy in the North Atlantic Convoys; one of the most dangerous jobs of the War.

If you remember the name of the book, please let me know.

Killing Zone by Harry McCallion. A very interesting book, the author served with the British Parachute Regiment, the South African Recce Commandos, the SAS and the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

You're right. We have to disarm american citizens first.

most of the hacking operations are supposedly being ran by China and nations in the eastern bloc.

What do you mean by 'hacking operations'? Criminal cartels that use hacking as part of their toolset are certainly common in Russia and China. But that isn't because Russian and Chinese people are more proficient hackers than those in the west. It's because the governments in those countries are either less concerned about curtailing cyber crime, or less able to. The fact that cyber crime of USA origin is less rampant in the west alone should tell you something about the effectiveness of the US government in the cyber arena. Didn't the NSA leaks tell you anything? The USA has always been a world leader in software and computer systems, and there is no reason to believe they don't continue to be.
