Per capita is what insecure, inferior countries use to try to make themselves feel better about their 1 medal. But hey, you can go make fun of India.
 
Proud of the team GB athletes, especially because there is no financial incentive given by the government for winning medals in the Olympics, unlike USA, China, and most of the other countries.

It's purely for sporting glory.

There is no financial security with the American Athletes either. Someone like Micheal Phelps will make a killing from sponsors, but he is one of the super stand out athletes. For example the girl that won a gold medal in wrestling will probably have pick up a job bar-tending like Ronda Rousey when she gets back.

That's true...but I think I read that USA government rewards gold medal winning athletes with $50k. Its a lot less than other countries (Singapore gives a $1 million reward for a gold) but my point was that UK gold medallists get $0 from government.
