Is it good on them though? Can you post a video or something proving that the conditions in a TYPICAL UK/European chicken farm/factory are indeed better? Minimum space requirements and what not does not automatically mean the chickens have a better life.

What the Feds need to do:

*Hire way more inspectors
*Carry out way more unannounced inspections.
*Levy huge fines , jail terms and even shutting down of any meat processing plant not complying with humane conditions.

The problem in America about this is rednecks and ghetto people. They think it is a sign of weakness or something to care for animals. There are some right wing posters in here who seem to get on board with the whole "so what animals are food quit being a bitch cuck cuck cuck fuck peta" type stuff. They dont represent perhaps the average right winger. I am right wing leaning but care for animals.

There's a breed of chicken nicknamed "fryers" that have been bred to gain body mass faster than their bone density can keep up.

I had one as a childhood pet named "Waddles". Towards the end of its life (a neighbors dog ate it), It could only walk a few steps at a time despite being fed a fairly lean diet. Yes, at one point if it didn't move much at all, it's skin would get irritated.

Knowing all of this, I have to assume that the headline for this story is an exaggeration at best.

Chlorine doesn't bother me as I use it often for washing and sanitizing. I think what bothers people is that the meat is soo bad that it requires chlorine to santize it.

Freshly dead, raw chicken is a breeding ground for salmonella.

The chlorine bath that they put freshly dead chickens through is more likely to cleanse it of excess salmonilla, then any skin irritant condition.
